[There was a first time for everything, Amaterasu had heard it said, but she sincerely hoped it wasn't true. As misfortune would have it, though, or perhaps Murphy's Law had she known it existed, things wouldn't quite work out for her that night.

Prior to coming home, she would be approached by a drunk customer who had left just half an hour before the end of her shift. Being the passive sort, she'd tried to worm her way out, but he was relentless, blocking her way out of the alleyway no matter which way she stepped. In tears, she violently pushed past him (and would regret it later) so that she could break into a run, wetness staining her cheeks by the time she reached home.
