[Hear that sound? It's the sound of a foot hitting a wall, repeatedly. A girl's gotta work her aggression out somehow, you know? Not like the wall's going to feel anything, anyhow. ENJOY THE SHOW MARINA.

After a few mildly satisfying minutes, Taiga gives up, breathing heavily, face flushed, hair in disarray, hands clenched into fists at her sides.]

A life sentence? You expect me to believe that? You expect me to give in quietly? I refuse.

DO YOU HEAR ME? I. REFUSE.

[No she isn't on the verge of tears what are you talking about.]

It is a peaceful morning in the Shelter. In the dome above, the artificial daylight cycle has not yet begun. The halls echo with the gentle sounds of early morning residents milling around and robots going about their business amidst the even, sterile glow of the artificial lights. Yes, all is quiet and calm...



Some will recognize that it is Sentience's voice -- not Acumen's -- that follows the echoing, whooping alarm that rings out through the halls of the entire Shelter and directs everyone to stay calm:

"Attention. Attention. An emergency has been reported in this building. Please, cease operations and calmly leave the building utilizing the nearest stairwell exit. Do not use the elevators. I repeat. Do not use the elevators!"

This continues on for many minutes, as denizens stir from their slumber or drop their meals and take to the halls. At least... it is expected that everyone follows the evacuation orders and strobe lights as directed. Elevators are non-functional for the duration of the alert. (But you can try to hack or override them if you want -- just expect someone to notice, later.)

As an added bonus: those in the kitchen and dining areas, sprinklers have activated, as that is the source of the disturbance. A perfect way to start your morning, right? (Don't worry -- there is a laundry cart with towels upstairs outside the exits.)

[Wherever he is probably does not have a lot of ventilation, because there's a lot of smoke floating around Gilbert's head, being emitted from the cigarette handing out of his mouth. He seems pretty out of it, like something unpleasant just occurred, but then his face returns to being neutral.]

In case any of you care, Xerxes Break and Liam Lunettes are no longer in the dome.

[If someone didn't know him, they would see someone who obviously doesn't care one way or the other about the information he just gave. But truthfully, he didn't feel very good about it. He doesn't like Break, no... But they're friends. And somehow...everything is easier with Break around, if not far more annoying. It's easier...to be relaxed when Break is here. And now he's not here anymore.

Gilbert, truth be told, is not happy to see him go.]

[Zoro didn't care about the prom. Not about dressing up and dancing, and he was really feeling too unmotivated to go searching for the bar and drink. So instead, he decided to stay in and hang out in the shelter's common room.]

[Which is all well and good, yes, except for one thing. He's fallen asleep. Out cold. So maybe you're coming down to hang out because you weren't at prom, or maybe you're on your way in. Maybe you want to throw something at Zoro to stop him from snoring, or gently wake him up to prod him towards his actual bed.]

[Or maybe you want to trip over him in the dark, because it's the floor that he's completely sprawled out on. Whatever it is, it's entirely possible with this marimo-haired pirate. But be warned, he may attack if approached to violently!]

Upon entering Sector 4, the very large tent that stands framed by the beach is quickly noticeable. Closer, one can see colors dancing upon the white sheets, like opalesque spires under the moving onyx sky. As you enter one of the wings of the tents, grass give way to wooden flooring, and chains of white blossoms and gold ribbons line the sides. The open dance floor in the center bids one to look up to whimsical white-gold lamps, balls of light dancing in seas of violet, blue, green and pink organza. The fabrics fall down pillars adorned with leaves and flowers. Tables set in white and gold with jewel toned flowers sit at the four wings surrounding the dance floor.

... but it is far too early to take a seat. Smile and greet your fellow attendee, take the hand of a friend, and dance to the music.



There are large tables with finger foods and punch (not spiked -- save it for the after-party!), and very little space near the walls (sorry, wallflowers! You won't get away so easily. ♥ )  After a large number of people are gathered together, Jeanne stands up on the small stage set to the side of the dance floor and taps on the microphone to get everyone's attention...

The Host Club would like to extend a welcome to all the new inmates arriving today. [Have a polite smile.] We sincerely hope your transition into your new accommodations proceeds smoothly and efficiently.

If you find yourself interested in meeting your fellow inmates, there are several events upcoming that may be of interest to you.

Miss Kohran Li has assembled a Talent Show this evening to be held in Sector 4, featuring dancing, singing, and a variety of other talents. And tomorrow will be the Marina Academy's first promenade, to be held in the park in Sector 4. Formal dress is expected.

For those of you planning to attend prom, the Host Club will be in the Athletic Complex if you should require basic dancing lessons, advice on the latest fashions, and anything else you might need to prepare for the upcoming event.
