[Oh, look, she lives after all!]

Marina—that is the people of Marina—I was wondering if anyone else had flowers in your room when you returned there after the facility-wide cleaning. [She thought everyone had gotten flowers and it was just a nice touch from Acumen, but then no one else had mentioned it, so now she's curious.]

Ah, that's all I think. [You may now continue your regularly scheduled lives.]

(OOC: I should probably mention, that you did not. No flowers for you!)
[MINGLE / Open to ALL] Snowball Fight in Sector 4!
11 January 2012 at 07:35 pm
[ Wandering around the snowy park? There are two things to look out for: (1) don't trip over the bright orange ropes that close off a large open area, (2) take cover and watch for a stray snowball, and (3) ... you know, you might want to join in for this is a Snowball Fight.

Only guidelines: no weapons, no head shots, no stuffing snow down someone's mouth, collar or anywhere else uncomfortable. Play to your heart's content! Spoiler: there's no winner.

Warm drinks and snacks are served in a nearby tent (ah, thank goodness for space heaters!), while towels and blankets are also available. You might want to take advantage of the snow as well -- make snowmen, snow angels, your own sculpture as you wind down~ ]

[Baby Doll is currently in the athletic center, keeping to herself and stretching out. She's clearly an athletic young lady, and she moves through the motions like they're familiar and reassuring - simple, basic dancer's exercises.

She appears to be in a better mood in general, and more relaxed due to the exercise and the flush of exertion it's given her.

(And she's wearing short shorts under her little jumper thing, though you may not be able to initially tell and may be wondering exactly how she's going to pull anything more flexible off without flashing her underwear at the room.)

[ Those accustomed to a busy, if not hectic schedule such as Principal Lee should be kept occupied, lest their evil start showing. Ominously dark auras are unsightly and not pleasing to the Master and so he must find himself something to do and to share to keep said crazy evil in check. ]

Good day to you, Marina. If some of you may recall the last time I have addressed the network, I have spoken of culinary applications of flowers.

I have personally undertaken experiments since then and today, for those still interested, I would like to share the recipe I am following. [ And modified. ]

For those who would like to join me in passing time, please head to the Shelter Kitchen -- [ in such-such floor ] and I will be more than glad to share what I know.

Thank you very much for your time.

[Sup, folks. Have a Hideki poking at the screen.]

Is it on? I thought these things were supposed to tell you when they started recording! Uh.... Right! I'm Hideki Motosuwa. [Smile!] Alright, so I read everything in these brochures and I gotta say... ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!?

Acumen? Supernatural abilities? Britannian? I may not have remembered much from school but I know there's not a language called that! Oh, did you mean British, maybe? I always thought they just called that English. -- Wait, that's not the point! What's up with these welcome packets!? What is this, a vacation? Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying tie me up or anything like that. It's not really my thing, if you catch my drift. I'm just saying that it's sketchy! I mean, is it really alright to give criminals a movie theater? There's even a baseball team!

I'll just get to the point -- I know that I'm innocent. Just how many of you are really criminals?

Hey. [Always weird starting these.] So, the Devil's Compass has a pool table now if anyone is interested. There's a dart board too, [Thinking] and we still have drinks. It's the only place outside of the club you can get alcohol.

Sasha is here tonight too, so we've got pizzas, quiche, and pie. ["Pie" might have come out slightly sighed.] So, stop in. [Should he say bye? Awkward pause. Click.]

[Apparently, Kurama had no difficulty whatsoever in locating a place to stay after the Shelter's evacuation. He looks quite comfortable, seated behind a desk in what appears to be a modest study area. He has in fact claimed a small residence in Sector Four for his own, chosen for its proximity to the parks. Personal touches can already be seen in the several tropical and flowering plants he has growing on the windowsill. The space is otherwise largely empty. Kurama may be efficient, but even he can't furnish a home to his personal standards in less than a day. The purpose for his transmission has nothing to do with the move, however, and he quickly gets to the point, his hands folded on the desk in front of him, his expression calm and reassuringly confident. This is someone who most certainly does not suffer from either shyness or hubris.]

Good evening. My name is Kurama, and I hope you will spare me a moment of your time while I make a brief announcement. For those who may be interested, I will be offering a course in the mythologies of Earth at the Education Center in Sector 2. Class will be held in Room 7 from nine until ten in the morning on days ending in one and five. Students are welcome to join the course at any time. Please bring any materials you may require to keep notes. All other materials will be provided to you as needed. I ask that anyone who wishes to contribute to the subject matter of the course contact me to discuss the particulars.

The first class would ordinarily be held tomorrow, but, in light of Acumen's cleaning activities, has been postponed until Day 151. Until then, I am happy to entertain any questions you might have.

Thank you for your time.

[ooc: For anyone who wants to look at the "official" course catalog entry, it's here. Sorry I didn't post the link sooner!]

[ For Mikado, the boy has spent the past hours doing a number of things.

1. Promptly freaking out, ripping the thing off of his face, and trying to find something familiar in the place he woke up in. This has failed.

2. Belatedly noticing that there was a... welcome basket? Okay... near him. This had a pamphlet in it.

3. ...Upon further notice, this pamphlet seems crazy. Or some kind of fiction. It's not as if-- This caused him to stare out the dome windows. He was really under the ocean, wasn't he? Ah.... Oh. O-okay. Sure. Why...not....

4. Looking over the brochure more carefully. Britannian? Now that… wasn’t something he knew. And this was supposed to be written in it? Cue angling the paper and squinting to see if anything changed.

5. …Oh. A communicator. That was the thing he ripped off. Hm. Let’s see….

He plays with the setting for a moment, adjusting to the controls. When he’s done, it connects, the sight of a younger, somewhat nervous boy appearing. Surprisingly, though, there’s a bit of excitement tucked at the edges of his eyes. ]

Ah, I… I’d like to thank to people who made the brochure. It was, um…. [ A lot to take in. Still debating the fact or fiction of some of it. ] Helpful.

[ He gives a quick smile, then it fades from nerves. ] Uh, so. Once we’re here. What are we supposed to do now?

[Graham's expression is serious, and understandably so. There's quite a lot to think about right now, and a lot to take in.]

To any comrades of mine who may have been brought alongside me here: this is Captain Graham Aker. I ask that you contact me as soon as possible.

[He would have ended this post right there, but he's been struck with another thought.]

To anyone else who may be listening... Do you accept this place as your rightful punishment? Or have you been wrongly imprisoned?

Would you say this is adequate justice?

[Nasuti doesn't waste time upon her arrival. She knew posting to this so-called 'network' down here was the only way she was going to make any progress in getting acquainted here, especially if this was for as long as they say.

Nasuti submits her posts to the network in a formal manner. She props her device up on a desk, and sits back in a chair with her hands on her laps and her back straight, shoulders square. It's clear she's new to the area, as this habit will most likely not last long.

She knew better than to contemplate any sort of designs for breaking out of this place. Even if it were fool-proof, she lacked the man-power for such a thing.

No. If Nasuti's learned anything over the years, it was not to panic.]

So. It looks like I'm stuck down here like the rest of you. [Whoever 'the rest of you' may be...]

I don't even know where to begin, I--[Distracted, she looks up, and gazes at the tropical scenery above her.]

.....

I guess I should give them props for at least attempting a serene surrounding.

[She looks back to the camera.]

It's an interesting experiment, isn't it? [She brings a finger to her chin and looks up in thought.] People that most would think are in essence 'good' are brought into this society, living among some ruthless and I imagine violent criminals. Will the members of this community, much like Japan, insist on monotony and see to it that the criminals act within the laws set forth? Or will the 'good' - or should I say, 'lesser evil' of its citizens fall to temptation and indulge in vice rather than virtue?

[Nasuti looks back to the screen. She seems more eager about this scenario than one would expect.] Can we tell who is the lesser of evil here? Will people congregate towards those who best match their own morality? Is there someone out there watching us as all of this transpires?

[Nasuti giggles a bit, and smiles.] I'm Nasuti Yagyu, twenty years old. I was born in France, but I've lived in Japan for the past several years. I suppose I'm guilty...of...[Nasuti thinks on this a bit, and mutters below her breath.] ...well a few things I can think of, off the top of my head, but...I wonder if they found out..? Well! Enough of that! In spite of it all, this place seems safe enough. Is it advised against for a young woman to wander the streets alone here?

[The feed shows Oz, just sitting there in what looks like the cafeteria. Nothing spectacular or overtly interesting to see here really except that his hair happens to be extra red today. Of course those who know Oz know that his hair can change color from day to day depending on how motivated he is to do it. Let's just say someone got a hold of some cherry kool-aid mix. Anyway, it's just Oz.]

[Sector 5 sees a lot of people over the course of a day. Many live there in houses or apartment complexes; many come there to shop for food or clothing; many come there to relax and have a meal; some even come for the entertainments offered by the bowling alley, the ice rink, or the Devil's Compass.]

[Everyone who might have passed through Sector 5 today is invited to thread out a chance encounter here, or a date, or a gathering of friends. Just tell everyone where your character is and what they're doing, and go!]

This is new. [ He sighs. ] I think the bots do enough cleaning on a daily basis. They're better than the automated trash robots back in Academy City, and things were always clean there, too.

Hello. [She didn't sleep much last night. The announcement could wait, but she doesn't think it's going to get easier, so sue pushes ahead. She wants to be strong for his sake. To make him proud of the way she's handling his business in his absence and so that Suzaku and Nunnally won't have to worry about her too. She can be there for them instead.]

I regret to tell you all Lelouch vi Britannia has left Marina.

I will be taking over all his administrative duties at the school. Literature and Philosophy classes will be put on hold until a replacement can be found. Life is not like you see in movies. It's not a matter of happily ever afters and things working out perfectly in the end, and in school, they don't even teach you the things you really need to know about life.

I think that's what parents are for, supposedly.

[Sometimes when things seem to be going horribly, he can sit down and figure things out.

But this... this has been such a huge struggle for him, and has made him spend most of his day thinking and unable to focus on anything else.]

Schools don't teach you what you're supposed to do when you love two things, but can only save one, just like they don't teach you what you're supposed to do when two people love one thing, and only one can have the thing. They don't really teach you how to treat other people, and they don't teach you exactly what you should know about the real world.

Pisses me off.

[It's getting late, but Kurama isn't in bed. Instead, he's taking a walk out in the snow, hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket. He seems perfectly at ease despite having been in Marina for only a few days. He's still anxious to be home, but he's also patient. If Acumen is indeed pulling individuals from different times as well as different places, it's possible that, no matter how many days or months or even years it might take Kurama to return to his family, he may be able to rejoin them mere moments after he was initially taken out of his reality. The more pressing question is not when he will return, but how.

In the meantime, Kurama will learn what he can of Marina and his fellow inmates. Even the smallest, most innocuous piece of information might prove useful in the future.

Kurama's steps take him to the large cherry tree in Sector Four. He pauses and tips his head back to look up at the overhanging boughs.]

Out of curiosity, does anyone have experience with alternate realities, transdimensional displacement, and pandimensional travel? I've been there and done that on all accounts, but I'm curious to know how much of a common denominator that is within the prisoner population.

[ tampering with time and other realities is, after all, one of his listed crimes. angel is also not an expert on the scientific how to of dimensional go betweening. he's just regurgitating things fred said that were committed to memory a long time ago. the mystical and supernatural end of that spectrum is more where his expertise lies.

and later in the day, angel can be found in the training hall, going through some tai chi forms. ]

[After making his requests to Acumen, Zero walks around the dome to do some thinking. As typical of late, he finds himself in front of the pet cafe. Permission had been granted allowing him to choose a pet from within. Still, the act of actually entering the cafe and picking one out wasn't something he was quite ready to do.

Back leaning against the corner of one of the windows, Zero looked out over Marina as the fingers of one of his hands slid slowly across the glass. To most onlookers it would appear as if Zero wasn't paying attention at all to the chaos left in his wake on the other side of the glass. Four kittens of various shades clambered over themselves to capture the hand, knocking each other over in the process.

A little tiger striped brown kitten clamped down on the ear of the orange kitten, eliciting a painful yelp from the orange kitten. Zero removed his hand and buried it into the trench coat he was wearing, the kittens suddenly vocalizing their upset with his removal of their toy as they pawed at the glass behind him.]

We're getting more snow? I think that's another new thing for me, I've never seen that sort of weather before. It's nice though even it's a bit cold...though from what I heard guess it's normal for this time of year?

About two weeks here already and I'm learning all sorts of different things that don't exist or that I was able to do back where I'm from, it's kind of fun in a way. [Raenef pauses, thinking about something for a moment. Currently he's in the library, kind of flipping through a notebook in his hand, for remembering this stuff mostly] Even these holidays, like Halloween that just passed by a couple of days ago-- we don't have anything like that.

Are there any other types of holidays coming up that I should know about? I think stuff like that might be useful to know.

[At first, it may be difficult to make out the pale figure against the backdrop of snow, but as one draws closer, important details fall into place: the pointed, erect ears; the lean body covered in sleek, silver fur; the gleaming red eyes; and four tails snaking through the air as though they have a life of their own. With the restraints gone, Kurama has chosen to test what abilities are now available to him, and can be found in one of the parks in Sector Four in his native form, that of a four-tailed fox. Perhaps someone will put two-and-two together and realize that he is in fact the red-haired youth who arrived the day before; perhaps he will instead be assumed to be another individual entirely. Either way, he's warm enough with his thick coat of fur, and keen to learn what limitations may have been placed on this form by Acumen.]

[ooc: Kurama only told one person he was a youko, so Naoya should be the only character who could figure out right away that the fox is Kurama, I think. Anyone else would have to go on hints given today, if he bothers to give them at all.]
