The information contained within the comments (as well as the logo and IC welcome from the profile) is provided for characters. It can be accessed in the computer labs and it is printed into a catalog which can be delivered in the mail and left in various common areas throughout the dome.

[DESCRIPTION] Useful for inmates who already have a working knowledge of electronics and computers. This course will cover networking, securing channels, and writing programs. Much of the class will be open to general enrollment, but some lessons may be taught on a restricted level to those granted clearance by The Defense Force.

[SUPPLIES] Nothing specific to the course, but be sure to have some supplies for taking notes.

[DESCRIPTION] An introduction to the tools of the economist, focusing on issues like business cycle, interest rates, inflation, government taxation policy, and international trade. Hands-on research projects will help make connections between economic theory and the real world.

[SUPPLIES] Notebook, lined paper and graph paper, pencil. Textbooks and only occasional supplies will be provided.

[DESCRIPTION] The history of various worlds represented in Marina, how some are similar and how some are different. There will probably be an opportunity for some student input on what they want to learn since there is so much.

[DESCRIPTION] Ideal for inmates from pre-technology revolution worlds or youth. The class will cover basic concepts such as electricity as well as giving practical demonstrations and experience with using various appliances ranging from toasters to microwaves to the electric toothbrush to video games. The class will also provide a very fundamental understanding of computers and your communicator, focusing on the most common uses of each.

Life Skills Workshop

[SUBJECT] Life Skills Workshop

[TEACHER] Aidan Reilly [info]redclayheroics

[LOCATION] Usually in the Educational Facility, classroom 3 but location may differ depending on subject.

[DESCRIPTION] A workshop geared towards helping the inmates with filling in gaps in their basic survival skills, from simple cooking to cleaning, mending clothes, gardening, first aid, taking care of pets, basic carpentry or anything else that may come up during the workshop. Highly open to suggestions. Subjects may overlap with other classes but are meant to be the extremely basic — if you already know how to boil an egg, this is not the class for you.

Only teacher-led in the sense that Aidan hosts the workshop. Participants are highly encouraged to take charge of the meetings, suggests subjects or request help with whatever holes in their skill set they wish to fill.

[SUPPLIES] Depends on the subject, but will often be provided in class.

[DESCRIPTION] Do you burn water when making tea? Then this beginning class is for you. Here you can learn the basics rules of safety in he kitchen and following recipes.

[LOCATION] Main Athletic Complex (may move to another location on certain days for training purposes, but will be posted before hand if it does)

[DESCRIPTION] Useful for inmates who want to learn how to defend themselves or continue their education on the subject. Advanced students may come for sparring purposes. Students will learn the essentials to defending themselves against attack through hand-to-hand combat.

[SUPPLIES] Water (preferably a large bottle), a towel, anything the need for support such as braces or wraps
