Silas felt overly paranoid as he made his way to the Astronomy Tower. It wasn't that he was unused to being the corridors after dark, but the fact that for once in his life he was doing something he wasn't supposed to. It would have been easier to meet in the Common Room. Silas couldn't help but wonder if his new determination to strike out on his own was why he'd been persuaded to do this. His heart pounded in his chest as he made his way up the staircase and every shadow spooked him. At one point, he could have sworn he was Mrs. Norris's eyes glinting at him. Holding the package for Orla closer to him, he bolted up the last few steps. The sight that met his eyes on entering the observation room astounded him.

"Wow," he let out a breath. No wonder Orla wanted to come here. Without taking his eyes off the sky, he sat in a nearby chair and stared in amazement at the stars. They really were beautiful.

WHAT: Gideon has something to ask Michelle

The cafe where Gideon and Michelle were having breakfast was open 24 hours. It wasn’t the most glamorous place, but it was quiet. The pair sat in a corner booth in the back of the restaurant away from everyone else.

Michelle had always tried to go to bed as soon as she came home but had found in the past week that staying up a little didn’t hurt her routine and was actually quite good for her social life. All her morning was spent talking with Gideon about, well, quite a lot. She enjoyed their conversations more and more as they went more in depth about their lives.

Gideon moved around the table to sit closer to Michelle. He put his arm around her and tilted her chin into a kiss. After pulling back, he searched her eyes a moment before speaking.

“Seeing you as been the highlight of this past month,” he began. “And truth be told, I don’t want to worry about sharing you with anyone. Would you like to make it official?”

Wayne stood behind the bar cleaning. While it had been steady since he got there at nine o'clock, it didn't get really busy until after midnight. He glanced across the club to where Gideon was sitting. The guy seemed to be there a lot. Michelle's freaking out over him frustrated Wayne. He wanted to march over to the other man and inform him that, as Michelle's adopted older brother, he demanded to know his intentions with her. It wasn't that Gideon upset him, more that Wayne had been uncharacteristically irritable since the assault. Michelle was torqued and Wayne wanted to fix it.

He stopped wiping the counter and sat on a nearby stool, shutting his eyes and rubbing his temples. Headaches were still plaguing him. The lights and loud music of the club certainly didn't help the matter. No one was sitting at the bar right then, so he allowed himself a moment to focus. He moved to fill a glass of water and took a sip.
