FRONT PAGEHeadmaster Abandons Hogwarts, New Headmaster NamedRose FaustIn a time marked by turmoil, it has been brought to the attention of the Ministry of Magic that Headmaster Albus Dumbledore, who just months ago shut the school off from the rest of magical society and, in effect, locked our own children away from contact with their families, has left his post as Headmaster unattended with no word as to his location.
After being made aware of comments made in the widespread magical journal system of the Headmaster’s absence, repeated attempts were made by the Board of Governors and the Minister of Magic himself to contact Dumbledore, to no avail. This is unsurprising, as in the recent months the mental state of the Headmaster has been called repeatedly into question. After closing the school off and disallowing Ministry visitations, most recently Dumbledore has flaunted new regulations and allowed known criminals accused of theft of magic to continue to be educated and housed with our own children.
"A tragic continuation of a pattern," said Wizengamot elder Dolores Umbridge. "From my time at Hogwarts, it was clear that Albus Dumbledore was losing his tenuous grasp on reality, and doubtlessly this is a continuation of that, and proof that he simply is not responsible enough to be in charge of so many young minds. No one denies that Dumbledore did some good work, in his younger years, but this is a welcome opportunity to reclaim Hogwarts', and set it back on the right path.
Immediately following the realization of Dumbledore’s departure, the Hogwarts Board of Governors met with the Minister of Magic to discuss possible replacements for the ailing former Headmaster, who was stripped of his post
in absentia. Severus Snape, most recently the Head of Slytherin House and the professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts at Hogwarts, was contacted in the early evening hours to a special meeting with Minister Thicknesse, where he accepted the position.
In a public statement Snape stated, “Students, parents and the wizarding community at large can look forward to new transparency and stability that has been sorely lacking during Albus Dumbledore's tragic decline.” We here at
