Who Mallory Twiddle & Fitz Croaker What Discussion of a New Assignment When (Backdated to Friday Afternoon) Where DMLE: Auror Office Status Incomplete/Closed Rating Low
Sometimes good Law Enforcement work required more than just chasing down Dark Wizards in alleys or waiting for something bad to happen and then apparating to the scene. Sometimes it required investigations, profiling and suspicion. It required finding people who might have information and convincing them to give it up, making friend from enemies and a lot of leg work -- and all of that was Fitzwilliam's speciality. He was one of the very best at what he did -- and that was exactly why he couldn't understand why all of a sudden, he was taken of the 'Dark Wizard' projects and given something...easy.
So the Ministry wanted to start tracking down unregistered werewolves and for some reason they thought his time would be best spent doing it. He tool the assignment, of course, never wanting to piss off his superiors and well aware of the fact that all the shifts in the Ministry meant that now was a good time to take orders without question. New people were rising to better pay grades and Fitz wanted to be one of them if he could figure out a way to make that work.
And for whatever reason, the Ministry decided that dog catching was too much for him to handle alone and so he'd been assigned a partner: Mallory Twiddle. Fitzwilliam had paid some attention to Twiddle's career. He was a good Auror and he trusted his instincts, something that seemed to pay off all the time. Fitz hadn't really spent a lot of time around him, being older rarely working on the same assignments, but he knew that he could be worse off. There were a lot of new faces in the office these days, and he didn't trust any of them.
So, folder in his hand, he went to greet Twiddle so they could work out the specifics of their assignment and feel each other out to get a good idea of how they were going to work together and what approach they wanted to take.
Fitz cracked the folder on the side of Twiddle's desk and gave him a smile that was genuine and friendly enough. He stuck out his hand for an official introduction (or re-introduction, he couldn't remember if he'd done this before or not). "Hey, Twiddle."
