So, my birthday is coming up. October 1st, to be precise. And I know generally people have a party of some sort, and while that would be nice I'm not expecting one at all. I would like to invite everyone to dinner that evening at one of my favorite restaurants, an Italian restaurant called [business name], though. I'll be treating everyone so no worries on that front. And you don't need to give me a gift because coming to dinner would be more than enough. But I just need to have an idea of how many people are coming so I can reserve a table. So please let me know if you'd like to join me.

So I'm afraid I won't be coming back until late this evening or possibly very early tomorrow morning. I gave up my seat to a lovely man returning from Afghanistan. He's from Lawrence, actually, and he's offered to take me to dinner this week as thanks. And the airline is upgrading me to first class but I'll need to leave this evening. They're still trying to figure out what the fastest way to get me back to Kansas is where there's an available seat. But I do plan on coming back, I swear.
