I'm sorry I've been a crap friend lately. I'm sorry I pushed pretty much all of you guys away when Kenzi got taken back and just kind of retreated into this black hole. I'm just real tired of losing the people I care about. I know I should be used to it by now but I'm not, and when it's the people who I'm really close to it hurts more. And I'm just tired of all of this crap happening all the time.

I promise, though, when I get back I'm going to try and be a better friend. And you guys can hold me to that.

There was a time I never would have believed that Kansas could be so pretty.

So the plans for the new Youth Center are being drawn up, and while we don't have as many displaced kids here as we used to I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for improvements they'd like to see since we all make use of it for community functions sometimes. Just keep in mind it's still going to be roughly the same size as before, so we can't add on too much more. I've also talked to the kids who are going to be coming back when it's rebuilt, so they had ideas too which we're going to try and incorporate. But it's looking like, barring any really big complications, it should be finished being rebuilt end of October or beginning of November.

From space to a graveyard? Well, that's just damn great. Jim, when you said shore leave, this isn't exactly what I had in mind.

With the destruction being as widespread as it was I'm sure this will come as no surprise to you all. But the building that housed Loki's magic library was completely destroyed during the Earthquake.

I believe I've found us the perfect house. The realtor lowered the price due to the damage sustained during the earthquake but with unlimited funds that was hardly an issue. Structurally the house seems fine but I'd feel safer having the team who built my villa come and look it over.

I should probably be really thankful a certain person I'm bunking with has bad aim when she's pissed. I came thisclose to having a concussion from a flying object.

This week has sucked pretty epically. We've lost a lot of people. Most of us have lost our homes and the majority of our belongings, if not all of them. I probably came out of this luckier than most, but it still sucks. We have a lot to mourn for.

But - and this is probably going to piss some people off - we have a lot to be grateful for, too. This week has sucked, but it could have been so much worse. We'll band together. We'll rebuild. We'll keep living, because that's what you do, even when things get bad.

Now, I know you probably don't feel like celebrating right now, but I think we should. I think we should celebrate the fact that we're still alive and that the world didn't end. Regina and I were planning a BBQ for tomorrow, anyway, and we're still going to do it. It'll be at my cabin, the one near the graveyard, and yeah, it's not quite as awesome as the house was, but there'll be good food, there'll be plenty to drink and most importantly, there'll be good company.

Tomorrow afternoon, starting around 1. You're all invited. Once the sun goes down, there'll even be a cool light show.

I saw that the apartment blocks were all destroyed. I can start booking us all into hotels and things. But, I need to know how many people need rooms. So, please post here if you need one.

Also, if anyone wants to help me pay for it all, and get the rooms booked. Since it's a lot of rooms to do at once, and it's a lot to do, even for me.

I think at this point you are the only male friend I have left and I need a male perspective on this situation I have found myself in. So say the Seal screws with things and you end up being the reckless, cocky and really flirty guy you used to be and you end up doing something with one of your employees you probably shouldn't have and you end up in bed with one of your best friends in the same week. And it isn't really weird but it is kind of weird? What the hell are you supposed to do in a situation like that? Because that's the situation I find myself in right now.
