Following up on Lu's post about Exploration Day, I was thinking of renting a ship out in Long Island Sound for a day trip. It's been good weather for it, and it would be a nice outing away from the compound.

There's the Harbour Festival on Saturday, or we could aim for during the week when it's less crowded.

While they're heading off to Rhea, we need to improve our defences.

Sadly, I don't know any barriers that are 100% foolproof. But, I'm hoping we can figure out how they got through, and guard against it. We can't have another incident like last night happen again.

I've helped Duncan's healing along a bit. So, he shouldn't need to be kept as long. I feel slightly selfish for only healing him. But, there was no way I would be leaving his side otherwise. And, I have too much to do.

Good Friday always seemed such a backwards name to me when I was younger. I understand where it comes from - that the greatest good can come from and in despite of great evil. It isn't necessarily pleasant or safe, what we wish for or imagine, but it is always needed. All things considered, that seems an apt description of life, as well.

This week has been both unexpected and very good.

I think I've lost track of how much pie I've eaten, already. But, damn it's good pie.

Well, I guess it's time I accept we're stuck here for the foreseeable future.

I normally pass my expertise on via Davina. But, I suppose I may as well offer it to you directly.

I have studied the different types of magic in my world for over a millenia. Even though I can no longer use it, I know a lot about how it works, and how to make dark objects to allow it to work for those who cannot use magic directly. I believe some of your magic is similar enough to ours, that you may be able to use some of what I know.

I'm sure you've all been wondering why we've been scrambling to increase security now, when the murders have been in the news for a few months now. The sad fact of the matter is, that in the early hours of yesterday morning, we lost one of our own. On his way back from the BNU gala, where he was representing SadTech, Mordecai Roberts was shot and killed.

I'm sure you'll all join me in mourning the loss of our friend and colleague.
