I want to do regular checks of the warding, and strengthening it in anyway we can think of.

Obviously, anyone not in my department isn't obligated to help, but we could do with all the help we can get, to make sure we keep our community safe.

I'd like to have a meeting this afternoon to meet our newer people, and catch up on our current projects.

For those that don't know me. I'm Neria Surana, Head of the Magic Department. We have a number of projects on going, some of which affect some of us personally.

I know not all of you work in my department. But, this meeting will give you an opportunity to know what we are doing, and whether you'd like to be involved in helping out. We have so many different types of magic here, it is always useful to have other people's perspectives.

With the holidays behind us, I think it's time I got to work. I'll be managing the sports program around the compound and with all of us being from so many different places, I'd like to hear from all of you about your favorite sports. If they're something that can be recreated or easily played here, I promise I'll do my best to make that happen!

I find myself desperately wishing we had the ability to play quidditch here. Is that silly?

I hope everyone's plans for ringing in the new year include celebrating responsibly and getting home (or wherever) safely tonight. I would much rather be kissing my girlfriend at midnight than patching you up.

How do you like New York so far? I'm sorry I've been busy the last week.

Saying this is a little mad feels like a bit of an understatement.

Since we've had lot of arrivals lately, both old and new, you might not all know about the speeder races we're doing next week.

The closest earth equivalent would be motor bikes, but they hover.

Jaina will tell you all about it later, but if you want lessons and/or practice, we'll be out on the fields most of tomorrow.

I miss a lot by skipping a party. Welcome (and welcome back) to all the new arrivals. I think I know most of you, but for those I don't, I'm Josh Summers. I'm a healer in Medical.

I suppose this is also a good time to remind everyone to wash their hands regularly and get a flu shot if you haven't already.

I think Halloween is my new favourite holiday. It's also a full moon on Halloween. Hope this place doesn't decide to get weird again.
