Would you object if I were to co-opt the game night tonight for Twelfth Night? Last year was rather enjoyable, and it's really just the addition of refreshments. I'll supply the cake - pay for it, at least, if Mr. Parr doesn't mind picking it up from the bakery. I've been strictly warned against overexerting myself.

I realize their traditions aren't quite the same as mine, but the little I know of New Orleans in this world is a very French influence. As that bodes well for a proper Twelfth Night celebration, I wondered if there was anything you care to add. (And if I'm remembering incorrectly, please blame it on too many memories recent knocks on the head and ignore me). I don't have anything too fancy in mind, just adding some cheer to the regular game night. Rum and a good King cake.

I should probably actually introduce myself. Since, I failed at that before. I'm Adrian Ivashkov.

I've always loved Christmas, even when I didn't really grasp what it was about. It's difficult not to love something that involves presents and sweets when one is a little boy - or it was for me, at least. My most memorable Christmas was actually rather awful at the time, but it was also the first where I started to look at the season - and myself differently. I haven't been perfect in my life - or even in this year or this week or this day - but Christmas reminds me that there is always light in the darkness.

I'm afraid I am a little late for this, but we still have a week to go. For those of you who weren't here for previous years or don't remember, it's become a tradition for our family to hold our own little Thanksgiving dinner with our family and friends here (all of you). We, like many of you, aren't American, but expressing our gratitude for being here and safe and together needn't be confined to national or world boundaries. I hope very much to see you there.

There were some last minute cancellations for the Youth Center's indoor Trick or Treat. It's a safer option than going door to door. For anyone who would like to help out by filling in, we already have candy for you. You just set up in one of the rooms and hand it out to the kids. It won't run too late, so there is still time to get back for the party tonight.
