[Things had not been going well for Eve. Her mother was sick, hospitalized for problems with her heart (it started with a heart attack, but it quickly became apparent that the damage was more extensive than the doctors originally thought) and had been fading fast. During the time period when emotional responses made odd things happen (in her case small static pulses leaping from her hands, shocking people and things) Eve had ended up getting kicked out of the hospital because of the way the machines were responding to her. It was while she was barred from visiting her mother that things took a turn for the worse, and after a long battle, she soon received word that her mother had asked to see a priest.

Her mother was dying, and much as Eve could appear strong for her around others, inside she was a mess.]

It's always difficult, and even a little strange, when we have to say goodbye to someone important to us for the last time. It's so unfair, how is it if I die I come back, but my mother... She lived a good, long life, and I just know she'll be reunited with my father. Requiescat in pace, mom.

Wedding planning is hard work. It's especially tough when the company is looking to get a few new projects up and running and I'm being asked to oversee them. I almost feel like my downtime is next to nothing.

It's alright though, I thrive on being busy.

[Archangels weren't meant to be so attached to humans. They were protectors of humanity, but evading sleep just to keep his sister company likely wasn't what his Father had in mind. Still, he did his job -- going from work to his sister and back again. Routine, that was what he did best. Keeping on task, doing the best he could under the circumstances. But despite his best efforts, he would show up drained at work.

After it was strongly recommended to him that his sister be institutionalized, Uriel fell in quiet mode. So many questions were asked of him -- how long has she been going to therapy, does she get along with her doctor, how is her medication working out. But everything pointed to an institute being the best and safest option for Lucia. And then he truly wasn't sure what to think.

He needed an opinion, and if anyone could tell it like it was, it was Samael.]

Aubrey claims there are some decent people here. Actually, she used the term neat but that would make us both sound juvenile.

Either way, I'm not seeing it.

[She'd been walking home alone, something Uriel never encouraged, when she'd broken down. Shattered. After being approached in an alleyway for a light, she'd simply unraveled in a series in screams until the ambulance had come to bring her to safety. Uriel had been called in to find his sister strapped down by her wrists to a bed, a sight he wished he hadn't had to witness.

But he would never question God's plan for his sister. Not now, not ever.]

Lucia is in the hospital. She's unharmed, but unstable. I can be reached on my cell while I'm with her.

[After everything that had happened in Zurvan -- the being a part of something far bigger than herself, having family who genuinely cared about her and made her feel worthwhile, and even her interactions with Samael being so loose and unmarred by the horrible decisions of her current life -- it was no shock that Eve was longing for those days to be a reality once again. When she had returned (well, not really, since she apparently hadn't been gone in the first place) it was to the news that her mother had suffered a severe heart attack and needed around the clock care while she recovered.

Unwilling to let anyone else care for the woman who had given birth to and raised her, Eve had put aside her college aspirations to move back home so that her mother could be cared for properly. Despite her best efforts, however, her mother didn't seem to be getting better and had ended up hospitalized once again. To say Eve was wearing herself thin with worry would be putting it mildly.]

If anyone is in much of a mood to pray, or to send out positive thoughts, please spare one for my mother. She hasn't been doing well, but I'm sure this is just a temporary setback. At least I hope so.

It seems we've once again been tested.

[Samael is a big man and a strong man and, despite Leukothoe's undoubted skills as an assassin, he survives.

When he opens his eyes, he thinks to tell the community of the strange dream he had in which he was a prince in a very foreign land who got stabbed for no good reason. When he opens his eyes, he sees that he's lying in a large four-poster bed, with a bandage wrapped around his torso.

He scrambles for his journal, which fucking exists, and, holy fuck, all the memories-]

I got kids again. And I'm a soldier again. Is this some kind of pseudo-way to get my fallen-angelic little life back?

I offer my condolences to all those who have felt this loss in not only Glastheim, but across Zurvan. He will be in a more beautiful place now.

I need a hug. And assurance. And cookies. Maybe in that order.
