I thought I saw Niflheimian soldiers coming into the region. Is there something I'm not aware of? I know I haven't been in talks because I'm not the sultan, but- Why are we allowing soldiers into our land or is this simply a mistake?

If it isn't a mistake, then what is happening? Horus, did you authorize this? Set? Anybody? Why would we let foreign soldiers traipse through the region? I hope you aren't stupid enough to trust them if they made promises about not going places they shouldn't

For the love of fucking...whatever. Fuck it. I'm not letting this shit happen. This...They need to get the fuck out of my our region.

[It had been days and the worry was beginning to eat her up. And when she had worried her thumb to the point of bleeding, she wraps it up and then begins to write.]

Please tell me you're well. Please.

Has anyone seen my daug Syrinx? She's usually so good about seeing me and checking in and I

Set, use your Marshal powers I'm so worried. I'm so, so very worried that she's gotten lost somewhere. She very small and delicate. She's a good girl, she wouldn't simply leave without saying anything. I know in my bones something has happened. I know it.

Ambassador, I know Syrinx was your...well. She was very fond of you. Please tell me you can do something in helping me find her. Please.

[Merlin doesn't know who did it, nor does he care why or how- he is thinking how to exploit this to his advantage: by claiming it was an assassination attempt, even if it was not.]

To the people of Camelot, it is my duty to inform you that as I was injured by what could've been the attempts of an assassin - Lady Igraine will be taking my place for the time being. I ask you all to support her and know that my full trust is on her.

Beloved sister, I thank you for shouldering these responsibilities and know you will exceed all expectations.

[It had been slightly belated but he had seen the post and had reacted less than elegantly. Something expensive had been shattered, words highly unpleasant had been spat out and, on his way out of the room, someone had been roughly pushed aside.

His daughter's death belonged to him - if that was her. If. He loathed the mystery and loathed more than if it was not his daughter that she had said nothing at all to assuage the concern. But, then, he knew her to be deeply selfish already and that she was more focused on living out some romantic life with that fucking Camelotian than worrying about the feelings of her father.

If that is my daughter's body, I want I would like to have it. In fact, if it would not be a burden, I would prefer to obtain the body regardless of who it may be. I can send one of my men to examine and return with the body.

Thank you.

There was always something to be done but he had set aside today to handle the financial side things. After breakfast, he'd informed all that he wanted to be left alone, even when it came to food and that he would come out when he was good and ready. Since then, he had been working, reorganizing and double-checking all the numbers.

Without lifting his head, he intended to grab a pad of paper when a sudden crash jarred him from his paperwork. Annoyed, he rose to investigate what would have to be cleaned up. It had been the vase of poppies that had been placed on the edge of his desk had tipped, the vase cracked and the brilliant red blooms limp in the shallow puddle of water. As he reached to pick them up, a cool feeling spread through out his limbs, triggering both nausea and uncertainty. Immediately, he recoiled from the flowers and got to his feet to sit on his chaise longue, one hand pressed to his middle.

Perhaps it was best to take the rest of the day off from minding the books.
