Spinning Compass Comunications

[The following is an interaction via magic spell]

[John fills a silver bowl full of purified water. He places coins into the bottom of the bowl. Cutting his thumb, he let's three drops of blood fall into the water. Then he whispers, "Tena koe ki nga wai. Ma tenei whakaata ka tuku atu e ahau taku whakaaro ki te hohonu. Ka tono ahau ki tetahi hunga whakarongo ki te Atua o te reinga" (Hail to the waters. With this mirror I send my reflection to the deep. I request an audience with the God of the Underworld.) The spell has been cast and an image appears in the bowl before John. All he can see at first is water. In turn, John's image has been sent to a reflective surface near Kai. John smirks, eyebrows raising, quite pleased with himself.]
