I have always heard of the Lantern Festival, but never seemed to arrive here until after they had it.
I am glad to have experienced it now.

Those dolls have begun ti disappear, did anyone ever find out how they got to the places they did?

Oooooh no. No thank you. I tried burying the two dolls that have been hanging around my tree this afternoon. I even recited local rites to calm uneasy spirits and lit some dried jasmine with neroli to soothe.

They're back.

Covered in dirt. Watching me. So a note to interested parties - burial rites don't help.

It's so nice to be back in fresh air! The tree is all happiness and light this morning. Thanks for the 'beam me up Scotty,' magical sorts. Stay warm. Russia's famous for those big fluffy hats, right? Those should help.

I did a thing this morning. I'd call it decorating around the tree, but it's too early for Yule and probably a little bit too throwback to The Godfather ish with the bodiless horse heads. The squirrels are thrilled, though. It's helping to shake off any of the leftover energy from the tower, too. If anyone has any ornaments, decorations or feeders they'd like to donate, please stop by!

Happy Halloween!

It feels a bit strange, such a beautiful morning the day after so much un-beautiful. Sorry, I don’t have the right word. It’s a feeling though, does anyone else have it?

There’s a ghost tour at Hampton Court Palace today. I really want to go! Is anyone interested? If you carry a tiny piece of tree bark, I can hitch along. I’d be so grateful.

Good morning, everyone. This is a little strange, how to begin. I'm Sirikit. I live with the Wishing Tree. I've been around for a long time, I'm just not very good at socializing. I'm learning. Hello though!

Things have been off this morning. With the tower's long term residents, I mean. The shadow that Marlow saw by the tree came back yesterday. The other spirits ... they're very busy. I don't know what that means, but I'd beg you all to please be cautious. Something has changed. I don't like it at all All the best to each of you.

The shadow Marlow mentioned three days ago reappeared by the tree yesterday while I was refreshing the silks. It just stared for a while. I tried to speak with it. It didn't respond. It felt dark and hungry, not at all friendly. I thought I got a good look at it, but I can't remember it now.

The best part about Halloween is getting to combine spooky things with downright adorable things. I've been keeping most of the small edibles light and friendly to even the smallest visitors to the cottage.
