I'm Vaughn. I signed a contract last night, I'll be working the Mirror Labyrinth.

Samhain is fast approaching. I have to admit, I love autumn. Crisp air, beautiful trees, so many things to smell.

I wonder, though. How many more strange things will happen before we depart? More than our usual?

It's like I never left. This place changes less than vampires.

I have the worst memory of anyone I've ever met (that I can remember) and yet I can't get a song out of my head. I suppose because it's a rhyme, it makes it easier to remember.


ETA [About five minutes later]: OH! ALSO! I'm Prosper! Prosper Golightly, at your service. I'll be working in the Pool of Tears, making the worry stones and such. I nearly forgot. Well, I suppose I did forget but then I remembered.

Good morning, everyone. This is a little strange, how to begin. I'm Sirikit. I live with the Wishing Tree. I've been around for a long time, I'm just not very good at socializing. I'm learning. Hello though!

Things have been off this morning. With the tower's long term residents, I mean. The shadow that Marlow saw by the tree came back yesterday. The other spirits ... they're very busy. I don't know what that means, but I'd beg you all to please be cautious. Something has changed. I don't like it at all All the best to each of you.

The shadow Marlow mentioned three days ago reappeared by the tree yesterday while I was refreshing the silks. It just stared for a while. I tried to speak with it. It didn't respond. It felt dark and hungry, not at all friendly. I thought I got a good look at it, but I can't remember it now.

The escapologist got a bit tied up. Apologies to anyone that was inconvenienced by my disappearing act tonight.

It's strange to be back in the place that I was born, both as a human and an immortal, after such a long time away. Things are so different but some remain the same. Strange how that is. It's fun to lurk around old haunts and remember the past.

Like how the last time I was in town, I almost - almost - experienced a quick drop and a sudden stop. Ah, memories.

This time around, I don't plan on getting trapped and tied up. At least, not until showtime.

If I eat any more fish and chips, I won't be able to fit into my dress. I can't help myself, they're just so good. Pfft. Probably means I'll have to take up some kind of exercise again. Boo hiss. I miss my growth spurt (what there was of it, anyway). I had a super metabolism, I could eat whatever I wanted. Apparently that doesn't happen when you're 26. Sigh.
