I've moved (mostly) from GJ primarily to find a reliable place to RP. I don't keep an OOC journal, so it's been hard for me to find any games that may have moved here, or started up fresh here, or already exist here. I have found a couple rp ad places, but they don't seem active. Maybe someone who watches this comm could advise me?

I'd like a small to medium celeb comm with older celebs or a focus on UK celebs (or both) with no AIM requirement. It would be a bonus if it had no lyrics or 'secrets' comms. Mature writers who stay IC is a must, of course.

I've had no luck finding celebs games here. There's plenty of rpgs but they're all strictly "no celebs/rpf". The sort of game you're looking for sounds like exactly the sort of thing I'd be looking for too.

The current main issue with threaded RPGs on IJ is that IJ has the problem of "comment rot" where comments , or entire threads of comments will just vanish off the face of the servers for no reason whatsoever, never-to-be-seen again.

They are - Squeaky says it should be fixed in the next code update. Honestly I keep forgetting about this issue because it's never actually happened to me. :P

They are, and it's expected to be resolved with the next code update (no idea when that will be). But it's something you should be aware of.

This .... bothers me horribly, to say the least. I do ALL of my roleplaying in comments and threads, and the last thing I need is to log in and find something gone that I've worked hard on setting up, even months down the line. It's looking as if I may have to yet again move all my games -- to a place like ProBoards, at this point.

Hey, right below this on my f-list there's an ad for [info]palpatine, a celeb community.

There's also ad comms that are pretty active: [info]wanna_rp, [info]ijrpg_games, [info]rpers_of_ij (for RPers to look for games), and [info]asylum_promo seems to have RPG ads fairly frequently. Sorry, I don't do celeb so I haven't noticed any of those ads particularly.

I would absolutely love to recommend the comm I'm in to you, though I don't know if you would want to take a look at it. It's called [info]visualmusic, and it caters to musicians only. It's a small private comm, usually by invitation only, but if you're interested I'd be more than happy to mention to the mod that you are and have her send an invitation.

I can honestly say that the writers are all marvellous. There is no random comm, no secrets, no lyrics -- and above all, no netspeak and teenie-talk allowed. The one thing that may turn you off to it is that there are also no long comment threads -- though every character there comments to everyone else, and the comments are always well-thought-out and meaningful.
