I am unsure if this has been pimped before, but the lovely sherlock has two brilliant posts regarding how to move your journals and communities to IJ. Post 1 Post Two
You know, moving journals is one thing. Trying to get my friends to move is another. I've set up feeds, and made feeds on LJ so they can read my IJ, but it's not the same. If anything, I never see comments anymore. But I will continue on.
I sympathize. I think it's been a hard choice for most of us who are moving. It certainly was for me, despite my being a world-class slacker when in comes to journaling. It takes quite a lot to get me off my backside and out of my comfort-zone, but LJ's latest round of offenses was just too damned much.
To me, moving to IJ is like moving to Canada from USA. There's a lot less people, and a lot of my friends "back home" aren't going to try very hard to keep in touch.
A lot of my friends haven't moved. But a lot have. At least now I know which friends were the ones who were really bothered about reading and which ones never really cared.
Remember that LJ backup tools are not just for migrating over to IJ. You should back up your LJ with these tools daily. I wish I'd realized that before LJ suspended me. Reconstructing the journal at IJ by hand was no fun :-)
I just reposted those links at
Where is Miracle Max when we need him?

Or post a picture of a kitten with a gun to its head and tell them if they don't emigrate, there won't be any kitten left to macro.
*snickers*
This is so evil that I admire you for coming up with it.
