So I was hoping to find someone knowledgable in acupuncture. I have chronic back pain and I can't take drugs for it. I've had some success with acupuncture in the past but my guy didn't make the universe jump with me. |

I miss home. Not that I don't love this place a lot - My family is here and that's great, but I miss San Fransisco. Once it gets a bit warmer, I'm thinking about taking the wife and kid there for a holiday. I still have a house there, after all. I just haven't seen inside it except for the once, when I first came here.
Bren, you want to go see what we're missing, honey? I know London's close to family and all, but come on. I miss the wharf. I miss the consignment shops, and the artist's scene. I miss the hills. Remember how I complained about all the uphill walking? I miss that. |

Attention anyone who's planning on attending the holiday feast at the Turner-Brennan household, this is including but certainly not limited to band managers, band members, deities, demi-deities, extended family, friends, friends of friends, the pseudo moms-club, pirate captains, pirate ships, and anyone else, really.
House rules are simple: No fighting, no biting.
As far as food goes, there's always enough to go around, but if you want to bring a dish to share, or your own utensils, or extra cups and napkins, I certainly won't argue. Also won't nay-say bringing pets, spouses, children or random people off the street, the more the merrier.
Usually say that dinner will be on the table by four, but that's a broad estimate, c'mon by any time after noon and we'll call it even. |

What are your plans for Halloween? We could make it our first official get-together-shaped party-style gathering. I know I was just going to stay home and hand out goodies, but if anybody's interested we could do something more entertaining.

So I've been thinking, which is sometimes a dangerous prospect as my husband will tell you.
But! With all the new mothers and soon-to-be-new-mothers around, maaaaaybe we should start up some sort of mom's outing club, either with the kiddos or without, depending on what we need. I'm thinking monthly? Weekly is too often, and bi-weekly is just confusing.
Babysitters and older siblings would be welcome as well of course, because it's only fair.
Does anyone else think this is a good idea? Or am I just letting the cookies do the talking again? |

Okay, so I kind of always swore I'd never be one of those mothers who's always going on and on about how cute their kid is, but dude, Cass found his feet earlier, and he's been fascinated by them since.
I mean, he'd kind of played with them before, all babies do that, but he's really interested in them right now, I might have to put henna on them while he's asleep later, see what he makes of that. |

So, something I have discovered, nearly-month-old babies don't sleep a lot, which is fine, since I've got pretty weird sleeping habits anyway.
Anyway, being up at odd hours leads to a lot of baking, seriously a lot of baking, so we're having an impromptu bake sale at [address] this weekend, starting, oh now-ish, come on by, we've got something for everyone.

So, kid's a week old now, that means we can start having visitors that aren't family.
Just in case anyone wants to come by, he really is adorable, for a potato-being, and still just as much of a kicker as he was in the womb.

Brenda's in labor. Has been for a couple hours. Okay more like four.

Reason I've got a moment is because she kicked me out of the room. Apparently this is just one of those parts of having a kid they didn't warn me about? The whole Yelling At Dad thing.

Edit: Cassidy Perttu Turner was born at 5:40am today weighing in at 8lbs, 4 oz. Brown hair with blue streak. No complications. We're all very exhausted, and after we get all the people out of our house, we'll all be getting some sleep.
The guitarists are already squabbling amongst themselves as to when's the best time to get him started in on lessons. I'll leave them to it and get some rest. |

First I didn't actually get enough to drink today which led to dehydration and false labor pains, and now the kid's decided that three in the damn morning is the best time to take up practicing for Riverdance again.
Only a month and a half.

Hello everyone!
So, uh, my name is Brenda Annn (yes, with three Ns) and in the trip here from home, I have lost my dula, and seeing as how I'm going to be giving birth in just a few weeks now (speculative due date of May 19th) I would really seriously appreciate having one while I'm here.
A doctor would be fine of course, but I'd prefer a midwife. I'm in London for now, and I'll probably be staying here until after the kid's born.
