Well, that was fun.

Any of you kind folk got th'secret t'getting henna to stop itchin'? S'shite's gettin' on me last damn nerve.

M'fine, by the by, thanks f'askin. An' you, Zee? An' Arabella, was it? Don't tell me I gotta go shoppin' f'new birds t'bother.

Has the henna dried? If it has and you've washed it off, if it still itches, try a baking soda paste. If it hasn't dried, I think you're stuck with trying not to itch.

Bakin' soda paste it is- assumin' I can reach. Thanks, ducky. Last time I bother with physical wards.

What she said. Though it all depends, have you already done the lemon-sugar-water part? That's what tends to make me itch the most.

There was no lemon-whathaveyou. S'not that kinda henna. Always itches, after a spell, but m'not exactly in th'mood to do the reversal just yet.

Ah-ha, then the best I can suggest is a few drops of peppermint oil and some cool water in a spray bottle, like the kind used for misting plants or training cats no to scratch the furniture.

If it's any comfort, I assumed you were fine. You don't strike me as the sort to be duped by a bunch of religious gits. I stayed in and helped Robbie track the monetary and informational side of these people. We're still working on it.

And am I reading correctly up there? You didn't have physical wards to begin with? Not censuring, mere surprise ... my husband and his brother were tattooed when they were in their early twenties. I suppose it might be a slightly different world. Still.

Thank you, luv. 'Wasn't directed at you- friend of mine's been avoidin' me, also one of the magically inclined. Figured she loved th'excuse to not look f'me, but I didn't want to make it that easy on 'er. No, the religious shite wasn't the issue- they had trackers, see. An' me with demon's blood, an' no small amount of residual magic on me, well. Figured better safe than sorry.

Permanent wards're fine if y'don't think you're gonna be needin' the path back down to Hell, ducky, but I keep business down there. Hurts just that much less, f'you're not marked. 'Sides, these'll last me for a week or so, yet, while me pride heals itself.

Mm. Point about the permanent wards. My husband's not headed downward any time soon if I have anything to say, but if you make it a habit, I suppose they'd get a bit shirty should the wards be in ink.

And the residual magic could've come off, but demon's blood ... well. That's rather stuck there, isn't it. Someone close to me has the same issue.

S'not exactly a habit, as an unavoidable fact of me existence, but somethin' like that, yeah. Actually

Shouldn't finish that sentence, lest Destiny decide t'get mouthy with me.

Washin' the magic offa me's rather like washin' the alcohol off a drunk a problem I also have, s'usually more effort than it's worth. Same goes for the blood- got it out, once, but it was a bitchuva time, an' I ended up gettin right back on the shite.

But then I'd hardly be a bloke worth mentioning, eh? Gotta keep just enough skin on th'bone to make folk wonder how I do it.

Anyhow, sure you get just the same thing, from your bloke an' his brother... an' that son of yours, from what I hear.

Still getting used to having a son, let alone one just a few years younger than I am. He's a good sort, though. I didn't bugger him up too badly. And he got his charm from his father and his skill at the con from me. I hope.

S'hard not to bollocks up a bit, in our line'a work, but he's in one piece, an' seems to be doin' right by himself. S'a good thing, ducky. Sure he'll be just fine.

Bears askin'- that friend'a mine. Said one of hers up and 'disappeared, like the others'. S'that- I mean, disappearing. Somethin' that happens often, 'round 'ere?

Disappeared? It does happen, apparently. People return to their own worlds, or just get ... pulled through the vortex again, I think. It happened to a friend's daughter. It's happened to others. A few have reappeared, but most don't. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. It's ... difficult.

We're good. Arabella wasn't allowed out of the house. I'm fine.

Why do you have henna?

Actually she's gone. Arabella's gone. Disappeared like the others.

.... Yeah I just bet she couldn't.

Do you want me to stop making it itch?

...Gone? Like, up-and-out, gone? Damn, Zee...

It was that, or she was tryin' t'push me away. 'Can't rightly tell the difference anymore, can I?

That entirely depends on if we're talking a bit of sdrawkcab klat, or what.

Yeah like she was never here. I'm kind of done with the whole.. domestic thing.

Well I don't think she'd be painting you if she wanted to get away from you. But I could be wrong.

I was thinking so, yeah. But I've got calamine lotion.

For what it's worth, luv, I'm sorry.

I had an inordinate sum'a money an' the promise of puttin' a ward on her house, in my favor. Couldn't understand a bloody thing she said, though.

Just lookin' t'get your hands on me. I see how it is. Don't you know you're supposed to buy a bloke a drink, first? I already bought you one, an' all.

So am I, thanks.

Gotcha, well who knows then. She might have just put an itching curse on you instead.

I do owe you one, if you recall. Besides I don't need drinks to get in your pants. But if you want drinks, I can do drinks.
