TIME UPDATE

Day 2.

Weather: The captives first night in Mount Zenith is rather chilly, with temperatures dipping to 5° Fahrenheit at the coldest points of the night and morning. Temperatures rise into the low 30s during daylight hours.

Events: Regardless of what happened yesterday, what the captives did or even where they fell asleep, once again everyone wakes up back in their assigned rooms. Those who took their bracelets off will have them on again. The IVs have not been replaced, so... win some, lose some?

Well, mostly lose. Those who took the time to destroy any cameras they found will discover they have been replaced. Womp womp.

It's worth noting that everyone does sleep. Even if an individual did everything in their power to stay awake through the night, at some point sleep will overcome everyone, and it will feel rather natural. Once again, captives will begin to wake up around 8 in the morning. For the point of clarification, anyone that did not seek shelter the previous day/night - in other words, tried to make a run for it and stubbornly refused to give up - would have fallen to exhaustion much, much earlier. Because otherwise they would have died. Don't be a hero, it's not covered by the health plan!

There is one thing that everyone will (or at least should) notice is different in their rooms: there is a blinking light on their computers. Yes, every captive has a desktop computer in their bedroom (incapable of connecting to the internet, of course), and a small red light is blinking on the monitor. It's bright enough to be noticeable, but probably not bright enough to wake a light sleeper. Captives will find that their computers are in sleep mode - all they need to is press a key on the keyboard or move the mouse and the monitor will flick on. At which point, a message immediately appears. It reads:

Greetings.

Now that you've had time to settle in, allow us to explain a few things. You are here for a reason. Escape is impossible, and the sooner you accept that, the better off you will be. If you are compliant, you will be rewarded. If you make things difficult, you will be punished. Right now, that is all you need to know. This needn't be a hardship on any of you. You can choose to look at your time spent here as a blessing or a curse. It makes no difference to us. The choice of how you will be treated during your stay here is entirely up to you.

This computer is equipped for two things - writing and keeping a journal, and network communications with your fellow subjects. We require that you make use of these options on a regular basis. If you do not, you will be punished. From time to time you will receive orders on this computer - daily requirements that you must meet. Should that be the case, the light will blink again.

We have no requirements of you today. It is our suggestion that you take time to get to know each other. You are welcome to explore the town, but for your own good, we advise you not to attempt this if you are not properly dressed for freezing temperatures.

Thank you.

Well that's cheery, innit? After closing the message, captives will find they are automatically logged in to a program simply titled The Zenith Network. Each individual's log-in is their subject #. It is explained that their log-in is how other captives will see their identities on the network, and they are given the option of changing it to their name or a nickname, if they desire. They are asked to create a password, and boom! They're on the network.

Oh. One more thing. Characters are going to quickly find out that they can't actually leave their room until after they post something on the network. They're locked in. After a post is made - any post - each character will hear several audible clicks in each door and window.

And finally, Felix, Audrey, and Levi will wake up in their own rooms. Their rooms are precisely as they left them, with nothing removed. Their experience today is slightly different than the others - they are also locked in their rooms. However, they cannot post on the network until every new captive has. They may still access the feeds and view the network, but not post. Once every new captive has unlocked their room, the rooms of the Experiment B participants unlock, and they regain posting access.
