TIME UPDATE

Day 48.

Weather: It remains overcast for most of the day, until about 6PM when another large storm blows in. The rain lasts through the night.

Events: Everyone's phone alerts them to a message at around 7am. No one's locked in their rooms, everything's fine, it's just a suggestion by TPTB that maybe everyone should get an early start to their day. The message that everyone finds is as follows:

We are prepared to give you a tool that will allow you to leave your current dwellings at night without becoming prey for the things that share this land with you. We have designed this in the form of special lanterns, which you will have to retrieve and place in the areas you wish to have safety in. Each lantern will provide a 25 foot circle of space safe from the creatures, as long as certain requirements are met.

The first requirement is that each lantern may only be placed once, so it is in your best interests to take some time to consider your options for placement. Each lantern is mounted on a stake. Once the stake is driven into the ground and the lantern is switched on, it may not be moved to a different location. Doing so will deactivate the lantern.

The second requirement is that all lanterns must be retrieved within 48 hours. There are 8 lanterns total, with two at each location marked on the map. If all 8 lanterns are retrieved within 48 hours, we will reward you with safe paths from the lodge to the barn and the mill, that will also have protection from monsters. If all 8 lanterns are not found after 48 hours, then we will allow you to keep the lanterns that you have retrieved, but those that have not been found will be returned to us, and you will not receive the bonus paths.

The locations that the lanterns are in have been marked on your GPS program. We will start our 48 hour countdown at 9:30am, so you may have time to prepare.

The map does have a few destinations marked with little blinking lanterns, and some look a lot easier to get to than others. Lanterns will be found at H18 (Marker 7), U20 (Marker 6), U32 (Marker 4), and T12 (Marker 11). For some of the markers, it might be worth dragging along one of those monster-proof tents, just in case.

To anyone who's staying at the house and not joining the hunt, it's worth noting that the furby is still making it's round. Man, those are some good batteries.
