TIME UPDATE

Day 28.

Weather: It's really windy and cold. It's not snowing, but there's still snow on the ground that's being kicked up by the wind. It's really cold wind, so bundle up!

Events: If anyone thought that this whole Mount Zenith experiment might be some sort of secret TV show, then what's happening today might just add to that feeling. And it's doing it through background music.

Everyone wakes up wherever they fell asleep, and it's going to take very little time before it's clear what the deal for the day is. Waking up, brushing their teeth, washing their face, will all be accompanied by pleasant, jaunty waking up music. There's not really a visible presence of speakers in the house, but the music is still playing from somewhere, as long as the captive is indoors. There's not really any other way to escape the music but to go outside.

The music is basically exactly what you'd expect from a TV show. The tunes match people's moods strangely well. Cheerful conversations get pleasant music, and sad or angry conversations get a much more dramatic score. The instrumentals are almost the same, but if anyone were to listen closely, they might notice subtle differences from person to person, giving each person their own little theme that might come through when people greet each other, or if someone says anything especially deserving of emphasis. If anything shocking happens, a stinger plays. In quiet moments, the music gets more gentle. And you better believe that if anyone gets flirty or frisky, the music reflects it.

At least, for most of the day the music matches up to things that are happening. As the day goes on, and once people start to get the game and recognize the pattern, it changes. Maybe in the middle of a nice conversation, the music picks up like a fight is about to start. Maybe during a heated moment, the sexy theme plays. Maybe the jumpscare-stinger plays out of nowhere. Whatever misplaced music suddenly starts playing, it's obviously aimed at causing discorse and at least attempting to make people think that things are about to happen. Whether things do or don't happen really depends on how suggestable a person is to musical cues.

One instrumental that can be expected is somehow both fun and weirdly sinister, like a theme for a Disney villain. If that's your thing, then you better be in ExB, because they're the only ones who are going to hear it. This morning, they have a message. It reads:

It seems that it has been a while since we have rewarded your hard work. We have a few ways that we'd like to remedy that.

First, we ask that as a group, you figure out three items, perks, or abilities that will improve your stay here. Whether they are something that will help with your Experiment B goals, or just improve your quality of life is up to you, we just ask that you give us three options. We will honor one of those requests, and make sure you all receive it as soon as possible. Please have your list done by the end of this day, as we will not honor this arrangement tomorrow.

In addition, some of you have, over time, accumulated various items special to ExB, either through secret gift exchanges, or directly from us. Many of these items have not been utilized, and so we would like to give you the option to trade them in for something you may find more useful. For every item you wish to trade in, we will allow you to either request an item/perk that a former ExB member was given, or you may request the files for one current OR former Mount Zenith resident. (Knives or other items originally given as a set will only be counted if the entire set is forfeited.) This deal is entirely optional, but will also only be available until the end of today.

All requests may be made via private message.
