[private to Kitty]

Still coming by for the microwave? I still have that something from before to tell you about, too.

[/private to Kitty]

... It can't be this close to Christmas already. [ Could be worse, dancing at those annual affairs back home, but still. So soon. ]

Haruhi's back. Why did Acumen bring her back? She doesn't belong here.

I guess maybe...

Tono's probably right. Why would anyone pick me over someone who's kind and caring? ... Not that I really care or anything.

Just forget I said anything.

[Spending too much time in one place was incredibly boring. Agito was tired of sitting around doing nothing. There were no other riders here, and the dome just wasn't big enough. He'd already trained more than even he could stand.

The dark wandered past the park, arms idly folded. His cat was at his feet, following her owner happily. Agito occasionally wondered if Kasumi knew she was a cat or hanging around that puppy of Akito's was rubbing off on her. One thing he did tend to do while bored was think. He'd heard Roxas had vanished from the dome, which, while he wouldn't admit it, bothered him.

Damnit he hated this place]

((Agito's CR is lacking, so hopefully using this post to boost it!))

[The video function is turned on, but seems to be fixed on the user's foot. The angle displays purple stockings, a red shoe, and a ball and chain wrapped around a skinny ankle. The voice that follows is clearly feminine.]

Get it off.

Please?

Excuses, excuses.

I knew Acumen was behind this. And now we're being punished for not bending to its will. Is anyone else unsurprised?

[Maybe ten minutes later:]

I need someone from... from the Defense Force to escort me to sector six. And no, it can't wait until tomorrow.

Ah, c'mon. What's up with all the chattering and a distinct lack of tunes around here? Don't tell me you guys don't believe in radios!

[After that lackluster morning announcement, someone's a little bored sitting around the house and waiting for his chains to come off.]

[This. Is a disaster.]

[Saki's just going to... stand there, in the shelter's kitchen, frowning down, empty mug in hand.]

[She's off of bed rest, sober for two days now, sufficiently de-bruised, and even got dressed today! Fate should be rewarding her, not punishing her further.]

Who broke the shelter's coffee machine?

[Button press button press button press!

--why. Won't. You. Turn. On.

--it is plugged, right?]

[Quick glance toward the wall and back. Yeah, it's plugged in.]

[C'mon, guilty party, reveal yourself. Saki hasn't yelled at anybody in almost two days a month.]
The 84th Day
11 October 2010 at 11:10 pm
Good morning, inmates. It is the 84th day of the third generation.

There is an issue that I would hear all of your opinions on, one regarding some inmate reactions to the blackout that occurred the night before last. It is imperative that you all understand that such events will naturally happen, so long as inmates have the free reign that they do. The only fail-safe method to ensure that nothing goes wrong is to reduce or remove that freedom.

So then, inmates of Marina Asylum, should the trust and freedom given to you be limited in exchange for a more smoothly operated system and facility? Or are some of you content to endure through some inconveniences, and retain the leniency you have now?

Inmates Fai D. Flourite and Toothless, your requests can be found at the entrance to Sector 0. Inmate Kefka Palazzo, your request will delivered by a remote unit.

[Now that everything from last night is over and BB's had some time to think, he knows that being idle here isn't going to do him any good. Sure, the arcade is a blast, but after hearing about that defence force, he knows he should at least ask. After all, if any of the others arrive here, they'll probably chew him out if he doesn't!]

Soooo, guys. I heard about that Defence Force thing last night.

Anybody around that a guy can ask about it? I mean, it sounds like what I'd be doing back home anyway, and you could obviously use an awesome guy like me around. [BB doesn't boast ever, what are you saying] With all those monsters, someone who can see in the dark would be good, right?

That's the second time I've seen those monsters. Whoever's doing it -- Acumen or whatever -- just cut it out already. I've seen better horror movies back home.

And what's with the cold? Don't tell me this place is actually going through autumn. It's such a useless season -- tch -- it doesn't even exist anymore!
The 83rd Day
04 October 2010 at 09:23 pm
Good morning, inmates. It is the 83rd day of the third generation, and newly processed criminals will be arriving in the facility over the course of the day.

Concerning the power outage last night, it was a minor error that resolved itself, and I apologize if it caused any inconvenience to inmates.

Today, the climate will be adjusted to progressively cooler temperatures, and some facility plant life will alter as well, in order to create a more autumn atmosphere.

Inmate Cross Marian, use of force against remote units is not tolerated. This will be the only warning.

[Midori's transporting an armful -- several armfuls, actually -- of fabrics from the store to the shelter when the entire street goes dark.]

[Her immediate response is to faceplant.]

[The fabrics go everywhere and her hands hit the ground first -- hard, enough to scrape and break the skin of her palms. There's a mild, subdued 'ngh' as she rights herself to a sitting position, reaching down to poke at her ankle, angled in a slightly funny direction.]

[It's a bit hard to get herself up and she doesn't want to leave the pile of fabrics behind, even though they'll all need to be cleaned now, but she does manage to pull herself to a bench a few feet away.]

What's going on? The -- [yeah, everyone can probably see that the lights are out] -- is everyone okay?

[A loud BANG accompanies a shimmy in the video feed, the otherwise serene scene of the athletic field jumping as the camera is jolted. Cross appears in the frame, blowing a cloud of smoke right into the camera, which seems unsteady -- Tim's carrying it, and its weight is not exactly conducive to balanced flight.]

[When the smoke clears, Cross is leaning over, staring into the face of one of Acumen's bots. He lifts his lit cigarette above the bot and taps some of the ash onto the poor thing's head.]

Useless piece of junk. [He gives it another hearty thwap for good measure.]

[Fai had actually suggested that he do this yesterday, but Red had gotten distracted and forgot. So he's doing it now.]

Princess Zelda!! Princess Zelda? Can you hear me? Are you there?

[Remembering that others can see this too,]

Does anyone know where I can find Princess Zelda?

((OOC: To avoid muncest, I'm saying that Zelda is either in the shower or resting in her room without her communicator on. Basically, she can't hear anything on the network and no one will be able to find her either.))

[Her feet are beginning to hurt -- having had nothing to do in that place but walk for days -- and it comes out in the frayed edges of her tone.] Anyone know where I can get a pack of smokes around here? [Pauses, then adds.] Pianissimo Peches, preferably.

Since we have new arrivals and for those who don't know me, my name is Lyle Dylandy and I'm the History teacher. The first class will be held today for anyone interested in attending and it won't conflict with the baseball game.

[Rayflo has taken a walk out to the graveyard tonight. He's currently floating above the ground, legs crossed, Maria in his arms, and he's looking around. He doesn't know what he's looking for. Maybe he's not looking for anything anymore.

There a few of his bats flying above the area, screeching and swooping. They hadn't brought any answers for him. Maria climbs up on his shoulder to try to bat at one and it flaps indignantly.

He isn't seeking company, but he won't turn any away. A distraction could be just what he needs.]

[ Chuck's standing in front of a table. On the table are three boxes. In the first box, there are bags with paintball "markers" (guns) and ammunition. In the second box are goggles. On the third, there are thinly padded helmets and chest pieces, all in black. Chuck is wearing all the gear, but his headgear has a little white flag attached to it. ]

Okay! [ Very excited. Sort of looks like a spaniel puppy who has to go to the bathroom. ] Thanks, everybody, for coming out. [ Waves! ]

I'm Chuck, and I'm going to be your ref. Behind me -- [ Indicates the fields behind him that are littered with hay bales of various sizes and heights. Both fields have been set up into one large play area. ] -- is our game field. The boundaries are the white lines along the perimeter. If anyone just wants to watch, they can sit in the bleachers.

[ Rubs his hands together. Sort of nervous now, but hey, still soldiering on. ]

Here's how we're going to do this. Everybody get in line and come up. You give me your name, I'll put it down and then I'll give you your marker and ammo, and you can pick out your gear. Everybody has to wear the headgear and goggles. The chest piece is optional. Once everybody has their stuff, we'll play.

I just have a few rules. First, no head or face shots. I mean it. [ Srs face. ] Second, no shooting someone more than once per encounter. And third, no attacking with anything other than a paintball. The markers can't be modified, and you can't hit someone with your marker.

I've got white paint. I'm the only person. If I see you someone breaking a rule, they're going to get hit with white paint. That person has to sit out on the bleachers for ten minutes. If I catch them more than once, they can't play anymore. Also... no shooting the ref.

No teams, and we'll count the hits at the end of the hour. Whoever wins gets... ah... the pleasure of bragging rights. [ Ehehehe. ] After, party at the club.

Okay, let's go!

((ooc: Event style tagging under the headers. Threadjacks are encouraged. People can skip the sign-up process and/or mingle pre-game, or just go straight to playing. More details here. :D))
