Are all cats like the cat in the bodega? I don't think that one likes me.

When I said that I'd be willing to appear on a reality TV show, I meant like. Guest judge on RuPaul's Drag Race. Not inadvertent contestant on Celebrity Survivor: Big Brother House.

Where is this, anyway?

I have some questions regarding the cosmetics provided in our bathrooms. I understand the general concept, and I have enough painting experience to perhaps figure some techniques out on my own. Except visual alterations to the face to create the appearance of a new identity is causing me some hesitations, because I've never had much desire to be different than how I was designed. I'm not certain what the end result is meant to be or how to begin.

I've noticed that each place we've gone has provided clothing of widely different styles to match the setting. And I've noticed that these makeup styles have a wide range of variety as well, not just by era. I think the overall approach is to create a look that is harmonious between the outfit and the face, but I admit I'm simply at a loss.

Any guidance or advice would be appreciated.

It is interesting that whoever has chosen to keep us here allowed such amenities as an art studio. But I am wary of experimental settings that appear to have good features on the surface.

Does anyone have a concept of what "Survivor" is and what it entails? The only information I've gathered is that in one world it's a series on television that somehow involved a crazy naked man, and that a newcomer reports that a similar event from his home involves murdering children for entertainment.

I was hoping maybe we could figure out more details to better prepare our volunteers, or consider revoking their names if this is something to be concerned with. I will not blame anyone for backing out if they are uncomfortable with the premise. Otherwise, are there any sorts of survival skills that we need brushing up on?

I sincerely hope that we're using the Survivor rules are the TV Show. Because if this is a fight to the death, I'm pretty sure we already know which block is going to win it.

I'd hate for this to be misconstrued as an indication that I'm concerned, or anything.

Just over a week ago, I found myself on a beach I didn't know, surrounded by people I'd mostly never met, wondering how the hell I could even be alive. Now that I've had a glimpse of what this place is like, whatever and wherever it truly is, it still beats the alternative.

I suppose there's nothing else to do than face whatever future awaits us even as I can see some of you find it more suspect than others. For myself, I hope to take lessons I learned in my last life and make something of this one while I have the chance.

For volunteers we currently have: Gansey, Emma and myself but I am not married to the idea if someone else is really eager to step up or doesn't trust me while I'm detoxing.

What is the leader going to lead? We don't know. Could be a knife fight, could be the adventure in the next room, could be a hike through a forest we don't yet know exists here. Who can tell?

What are you volunteering for? Maybe as a volcanic sacrifice? Maybe to complete a task? Maybe to fight off more Krampus demons? I really can't say and I make no promises.

Good to know that ghoul of an interior decorator my grandfather once hired kept getting work after we let him go. Color-blocking was a mistake in the seventies and it hasn't improved with age.

Shitty design choices aside, what the fuck?

I'm not sure what to make of this place. It seems too new, too expensive. Like I might break something if I touch it.

It doesn't feel like any place that's supposed to be my home. I've tried looking around this block, but I don't really recognize much of anyone.
