Michael dressed simply and comfortably- a pair of gray sweat pants and a Ravenclaw blue t-shirt with a few pin-sized holes singed into a portion just center of his floating ribs. On his chest, a stylized crest of a raven. The boy paced with hollow steps against the stone floor under his feet. His eyes were intent on the frail blond girl in front of him, his wand turning in his hand with deft rotations of concentration.

"Okay Luna," Michael said with an even, professorial tone. A single eyebrow rose on his forehead and half-disappeared under his brunette fringe. "I'll demonstrate an aegis defense first," he explained. "This is the brief transfiguration of the local air into something that will actively block or deflect a spell. Since most magic is based on release of an energy medium, some of the best elements for an aegis would include something highly reflective, or something that conducts very little electricity. That'd be glass, plastic or earth. But if your opponent is equally capable of transfiguration spells, you have to be prepared to counter an elemental attack. Water to fire, for example. Are you still with me?"

Michael gave Luna a confident-in-her nod and smile and he raised his wand. "Alright. Throw a spell at me." His smile broke past his lips and he chuckled, "Preferably not something that'll get you expelled, yeah? Something I can show you what I mean."
