He felt a twinge of regret, for not going to find Luna but Michael's offer for help was too good to pass up. Never mind that it would give Neville time to get to know the dark haired Ravenclaw better. He was a pretty passionate person, in Neville's estimation, based on what he'd seen at the last DA meetings and it wasn't the first time that Neville doubted Harry, about selecting him. Michael seemed to have a better handle on it all and a clear vision of what needed to be done. It made Neville think, again, that perhaps Michael would have been the better choice. Harry and Ron and Hermione had been up to something; Neville realized he probably was going to have to prod it out of them to get any answers. But he wasn't sure that he ws supposed to share that knowledge with anyone else; he hadn't even mentioned it to Luna.
Michael was brilliant, of that Neville was certain. And he could sorely use the guidance, in his Transfiguration studies. And he had been an affable sort of bloke when they had been at Geoff's beach thing. Neville stepped off the landing and looked about the Great Hall as he made his way through the doors. But not seeing Michael, he made his way to the Gryffindor table and sat down.
