Who: Michael Corner, Wayne Hopkins, Justin Finch-Fletchley and Sally-Anne Perks.
What: Two birds, one stone... a lot of angst.
Where: The Library (Hogwarts).
When: Evening (before curfew); October 9th.
Status/Rating: Closed/Lowish for now.
Michael's stomach dropped like someone had just put a singularity on the floor and for the first time in his life, he felt a cold chill of death breathing down his neck. He was terrified, genuinely. This went beyond a botched Transfiguration and the detached sense of mortality that it brought after all was well. He had waded into something by accident and had no time to prepare.
But he was sure. He picked up the scroll and unrolled it for a fourth time, just to confirm- and he felt ill and cold at it's confirmation. One of them had been at Hogsmeade... possibly, anyway. And nobody- not the Professors or the Aurors of the DMLE had known. Michael's mind was desperately clinging to some hope that this guy was just a charlatan who had a very unlucky choice of names in his repertoire. He hoped Sally pointed out this guy had scary reddish hair like she did and he could... relax.
But that only cured half the cold. There was another half. And the face in front of him now had a name. Handsome in a way. Square, masculine... rugged. Dark hair, shaved short... balding. The eyes most of all, unmistakable.
Michael's dropped himself into a seat, feeling floaty but heavy. He held the poster rolled up again, but he didn't remember rolling it back up. How was he supposed to tell them these things? Either of them. In one, he felt some vindication despite the chill... He closed his eyes and hopped this was a very big mistake. Reaching up, he tugged silently on one of the strings that would cinch his navy blue hoodie closed. He diddled with it's well-worn and frayed tip and waited for everyone.
He hoped Wayne or Justin came first... he wasn't sure he'd be suitable for helping Perky through this by himself.
