Michael pushed back from his desk and a pleased purr issued from his throat. His good arm stretched over his head first, then he arched up his chest. His work for Potions complete to his satisfaction, Michael stood up and undid his Ravenclaw tie- which was no small feat considering he only had one good arm. He bunched it up on his desk and then untucked his dress shirt. It was time for a bit of fun... only nobody was around. Michael looked around the dorm and with an exasperated shrug and slap against his thighs, he decided he would leave.
Michael descended down the stairs and headed straight for the kitchens, an apple's fresh, crisp flesh crunched in his mouth, it's shape half eaten by the time he reached the kitchens. That was when Michael got an idea. Instead of tickling the pear, Michael made a turn towards Hufflepuff. He approached the door, the skeptical painting eying him.
"Password?"
Michael smiled awkwardly and shook his head. "I'm not in Hufflepuff. But could you tell Justin Finch-Fletchley I'm outside, if he's here?"
A picture of a round motherly woman rocking in a chair unwedged herself from a rocking chair. "I'll get him, dear." She waddled out of her painting like a fat, arthritic penguin and across several others before disappearing from Michael's sight.
"Hello," right in front of him a proper man in a painting greeted to Michael, raising his monocle to look at the boy. He wore a tall stovepipe hat and had cheek whiskers and sideburns with no chin hair. Very Victorian.
"Evening," Michael nodded back at the painting, feeling it's ubiquitous eyes studying him. It was strange talking to a painting, but he supposed no stranger than a ghost.
"War injury?" It inquired with a dry curiosity.
Michael failed to hold back a scoff, "Not exactly." He was deliberately vague, afraid he was about to get a war tale from a painting.
