Now I'm fully aware a lot of you dislike me. I'm even more aware my own family are mired in issues that make those irritating daytime talk shows look sane. But Tenel Ka is by far the most sensible of the lot of us and a much nicer person than I am.

Which means I want her to have a perfect day with people there to help us celebrate it.

I was bored, so I was online looking around at things and I ended up at a page for different types of conventions. There are Star Wars conventions. I don't know if I should be but I'm a little intrigued. I've never been to a convention for this kind of thing. There's one in Kansas City. Has anyone been to a convention like this before? They look like they're extremely popular.

Three broken coffee pots and something that my boyfriend (who is half Kryptonian but apparently all wimp) refused to drink because it might kill him later, I have learned to make coffee! It's amazing what being stuck in the country far away from coffee carts and diners does for your learning curve. Maybe I shouldn't have given up on the cooking so soon. Maybe cooking just...happens better in the country?

...I really hope the things on this "reality tv" are not what anyone considers an acceptable reality. Honestly, when I was getting married I spent a couple hours trying on wedding dresses, found the nicest one I could afford, and then moved on. Some of these women are buying dresses for the cost of my first house.

So, looking into this world's history, some of which I assume both constitutes the future as well as the past for me, I've come across a great many things, both good and bad. Apparently the Cold War came to an end, so that counts as a good thing. But the Vietnam War went on into the 70s for seemingly no reason whatsoever aside from the government being too stubborn to give it up. Civil Rights went through, another good thing, and apparently the current issue for rights is Gay Rights. Really, I'm all for rights for anyone. People seem to be much more accepting of others now than they were in my time.

Genetics research has come quite a long way as well, along with medicine, psychiatry, and just about every other scientific field.

These are just a few of the things I've come across, of course. I could go on for much longer about how absolutely fascinating I find all of this, but I would probably end up boring everyone to tears if I did so.

There should be a code word. For the complex security, it'd keep the wrong kind of people out.

Does it not seem a little excessive to participate in shooting off these fireworks before the holiday in question? Would it not be more fulfilling to just set off these fireworks on the day of celebration? I've been hearing and seeing these fireworks set off periodically leading up to today.

I understand the significance, but I fail to understand the reasoning behind how excessive some individuals have been leading up to today.

I believe I'm going to indulge in some chocolate now.
