I was looking for clothes on the online catalogs today and I found something that was labeled as "70's inspired clothing."



I certainly never wore anything like this in 70's. Why does everyone always bring up the hippies when they talk about 60's and 70's fashion? Some of us had jobs.

And now I remember why I do not watch television often. I am fairly certain I was told of this show before and forgot. I have noted the extreme emphasis placed upon ones physical aspects and looks, but to put children through it at such young ages? To make them appear older than they are? It is rather depressing. They are children, not living dolls. It is one thing if they are balanced and not obsessive on winning and appearances, but from the samples given, that is rarely the case.

I am sure there are benefits, I just do not understand the need or desire to be judged on looks and using ones own child in such ways.

Sometimes your oldest son comes over to fix something that's rattling in your car. You offer him anything he wants for dinner.

Then this happens.

You know how 'they' say money can't buy happiness? Okay, well, 'they' are retarded because it definitely helps. It's so much better being able to stay home with the boys and not worry about whether I have to choose between a toy/prescription/Pull Ups and a bill.

I'm still bored, but I might have taken the boys to Walmart and bought them that new Batman cave thing to share...and just watching them play is kind of amusing in and of itself. I'm not sure what they have against Robin, but that figurine is always in jail. Poor Robin :( Not that Batman fairs much better...he doesn't even fit in his Batmobile (wtf, for real) so he usually just gets shoved into it and dropped down the elevator shaft.

In slightly related other news...did you know they still make Lincoln Logs?! They totally do! Conner loves them. I think he's going to be an architect someday.

Which sounds kind of stupid and random, but...yeah. There it is.

Yeah okay...it's only been just over a week and already I'm bored not having something to do during the day. Don't get me wrong; I love being able to stay at home with the boys. But it's different here. At home, during their nap times, I had work at home stuff to keep me busy. When they went to bed...I wasn't twiddling my thumbs for hours until I gave up and went to bed, because I wasn't...alone.

So. That said, once I get everything together for identification and all that...any ideas for work at home or part-time stuff I could do? Even, like, volunteer work, since I don't need the money, I just need something to keep myself busy. And, you know, talk to adults every once in a while in person when I'm not helping plan for a wedding that isn't mine and never will be.

We need, like, a spa day. I'll see if I can get Freddie to watch the boys for a few hours (and if not, I'm sure Ben wouldn't mind, since that kid makes bank watching my kids haha), if you want, sometime next week? Sam helped me straighten things out with the Police department. At one point there was a threat to counter sue with proper evidence and they backed down. I've even got a couple weeks of paid time.

So, with the holidays coming up I thought now might be a good time to start those...well they're basically home ec classes. I was thinking we could do two days a week, drop in whenever you want. Mondays will be basic earth knowledge how strange is that to have to say like how the money works, how the internet works, how to do basic repairs etc. I think we could do it pretty informally, anyone with questions and anyone willing to help answer them just drift down to the lobby around 7pm on Mondays and we'll chat. If there's interest in a specific skill someone can do a group demonstration.

Wednesdays, starting tomorrow, will be cooking days. This time I'll skip ahead to how to make a couple Christmas staples, turkey as well as cookies, but starting next Wednesday we'll go back to basics so everyone who has never had to cook for themselves before can learn.

So if you're thinking of coming tomorrow, or want to help out, let me know!

Did we ever decide on where we were doing Christmas this year? Also does everyone know if they're bringing guests? A headcount, even if it isn't completely accurate, will be useful for everyone helping with cooking.
