I understand that some of you may be alarmed by Rose'spanic-inducingpost last night. Here is the current situation:
An individual from our world has arrived, by the name of Dimitri Belikov. He was formerly a dhampir, like Rose, but was made into a Strigoi. For those who don't know what that is, it is a wholly evil, soulless vampire. He cannot go out in the daylight, has red eyes and a corpse-like pallor, and is extremely strong and fast. He is allergic to silver and cannot walk on holy ground. Should he bite you, his saliva causes an immediate euphoric response.
It has recently been discovered in our world that there is a way to revert a Strigoi to their original form, via being staked by a Spirit-wielder with a special charmed silver stake, thus it is imperative that we attempt this as soon as possible. Until he is apprehended, it is very important to try not to go out after sundown and do not attempt to confront him yourself. It is possible that magic and those with enhanced strength may be able to subdue and/or capture him, and I fully support this so long as you do not attempt it on your own so that we don't risk one of you becoming a Strigoi and increasing the threat at hand.

I feel the need to go drink for a while. I mean, I know Leonard Nimoy wasn't really Spock Prime, but I'm taking the news harder than I thought I would. Seal took my friend away. Someone I'd known well back in school, and here for a couple years. And they're home now. And it took many others too, one of which was my father. I.. should I be more sad about that? Maybe it's not as much a shock as I hadn't known Draco was here when he was, only after he "left". He was here and I didn't know. I wish that I did know. I do now, though. But he's gone. Too late. It also took Lydia, and Robin who was a good teacher, Henry who was also cool Dammit, I could have asked him! You know, I thought if Khan got taken before me I'd be ecstatic. And I'm not because there's someone here who's taking it pretty hard, and that fucking sucks. To top it off I lost three girls who were like little sisters to me and one of the best people I ever met. And for all we know there's more. I just...I can't deal with this right now, so I'm taking off tomorrow for Kansas City. I'll be back Thursday morning.

There are a lot of people here who know me, or know of me, and I think I owe a great many of them an apology.
Right before I showed up here -- well. I defeated Voldemort. I mean, like, immediately before.I still have the El and I've sort of been just reeling from that and not -- not sure what to say to anyone. I've read the books now, my books -- seen the films I don't and I just got myself trapped in this strange cycle of self-examination, I suppose. Looking at what I've done; realising how easy it might have been to do things better or differently. It's a struggle, it's strange, when it's all laid out in front of me in chapter and verse. I couldn't really -- I couldn't square it away easily.
But, Hermione sort of dragged me to my senses, so I'm here now. I'm present. And I'm sorry.

There didn't seem a good time to mention it before and, well, I've only just finished exploring it myself - Hogwarts Library is here in Lawrence. I wished for it at Christmas but I've been building in a few safeguards, to stop it from falling into the wrong hands, and, well, what with everything, it took me longer than expected.
I've cast a fidelius charm on it: for those of you who don't know what that is, it means no one will be able to plot or stumble across it unless they have been told where it is by the secret keeper, which is me.
If Idie get sent home, everyone that I have told, in turn, becomes a secret keeper. That way, I hope it will continue to be useful, even if I am not here to oversee its use.
Before I tell anyone where it is, however, I'd like to give a warning: while many of the books it holds are standard books of spells, magical histories and directories, that doesn't mean the knowledge they hold can't be dangerous. And there are plenty of books which aren't standard at all and are just down right dark. I hope anyone I trust with the secret of its location will honour that trust and keep any information they gain there safe and confidential. Knowledge is power and I won't stand by and let the library be abused, if I can help it.
That being said, if you would like access, please feel free to contact me. The spell books may not be relevant to many of you here, but there are plenty of books which will be. I just hope it can make some kind of positive difference.

So. I'm thinking, I'd like to have a belated birthday party in my house this weekend. Anyone would be welcome to attend. I'll have lots of snacks and refreshments and music, and might even pop an action movie into the DVD. Probably.. Norris, Seagal, or maybe Arnold or something. I'll need a cake. Kind I really love is vanilla, frosting, and, well, pretty much designed as a Slytherin cake. So yeah, late b-day party on Saturday night, bring a friend, have a blast, etc. Ohh.. and there will be magic too if anyone might like to see me demonstrate some of it. Especially fireworks.
