| Who: Finn and Avery When: Evening Where: Barn dance Finn knew he was distracted, but he couldn't get himself to focus any more than he was. He'd picked up Avery at her house to go to the party, but was quieter than usual, thoughts stuck on Audrey and what had been said as well as what had happened. How was he supposed to decide? Thoughts of kissing Audrey were encompassing, but Audrey had feelings for Liam as well and Finn knew how Liam felt about Audrey. He also knew that Liam and Audrey wouldn't be a bad match and he wasn't sure he could take something his friend wanted like that. And then there was Avery, who'd been nothing but sweet, was pleasant to be around and liked him despite his shortcomings. If he told her they couldn't be together, he might hurt her and Audrey might wind up with Liam anyway. It was confusing and it had driven him to silence, despite the noise of the hoe down. Avery wasn't oblivious to Finn's mental distance. He had been quiet since he picked her up, despite her best efforts to get him to talk. She felt a little silly then, having been stupidly excited to see him again after dinner with her siblings. She figured he either had stuff on his mind, or he was completely disinterested in being at the barn dance at all. Avery held a drink in her hand, watching everyone dance, eat and socialize. She saw a few people she knew, briefly considered wandering over to talk to them, but decided she would rather have Finn's company, despite his silence. Finally she looked at him with a small smile. "Do you want to go? We could go for a walk or something. It doesn't seem like you're having very much fun." ( I want you to go away now. Because if you don't, I'm probably going to punch you in the face. ) | ||||||||

| Who Finn and Avery When: Late afternoon Where: Finn's Warning: NSFW While Avery knew she looked pretty in Darcy's dress, she still felt a little foolish. Maybe if Finn were easier to read, she would be more confident in her decision to dress up and show up on his doorstep. It wasn't like with Noah and Darcy, where they both did those silly, weird grins when talking about one another. Things with Finn were different, and it felt strange to realize that she wasn't sure whether he would be be happy to see her, or confused as to why she was there. If he was even home. It dawned on Avery as she stepped up to Finn's door that he might not even be around, and she probably should have texted him first. But, hell, she had walked all that way and it would be foolish to turn away now. If he wasn't home, she would just... see him later. Hoping Darcy was right about this whole silly thing, Avery knocked on the door and stepped back to wait. ( something special ) | ||||||||

| Who: Finn and Avery When: Afternoon Where: Finn’s house After her argument with Darcy that morning, Avery had been in a sour mood ever since. School had dragged on, and she had avoided her cousin the best she could until she was done for the day. She had to work a shift at the pub, but it wasn’t for a while yet, and she felt like she had plenty of time to stop by Finn’s and see him for a bit. Knocking on his front door, Avery then reached up to to tighten her ponytail, wishing she had put some more care into her appearance. Jeans and a dark red t-shirt were incredibly plain, but Avery didn’t really think Finn would care much about her outfit. ( defining things ) | ||||||||

| Who: Finn and Avery When: Afternoon Where: Central Park With the rain having stopped, and the skies clearing up, Avery decided to take advantage of the nicer weather and maybe dress up a little. But only a little. She didn't want to look like she was trying too hard or whatever. She didn't have a whole lot of girly clothes, really, but she did have a dark blue sundress that barely skimmed her knees. She decided to wear it with a white cardigan, and she tied her hair up into a simple ponytail. She wasn't going to be like Darcy and primp in front of the mirror, but at least she wasn't in jeans and a boring t-shirt this time. When it was time to meet Finn, Avery walked to the park, drawn in by the crowds, the food and booths set up everywhere. For an impromptu gathering, people were certainly on the ball, it seemed. She realized that they hadn't set a specific meeting place when texting earlier, so Avery began to wander through the park, glancing around for any sign of Finn. ( Read more... ) | ||||||||

| Who: Avery and Finn When: Afternoon Where: Central Park Finn wanted to the at the hospital, but he wasn’t useful there and he’d promised Avery they could give the picnic a try. Of course the weather wasn’t working in their favor either, but he still hurried to meet her. He found himself mostly hoping she wouldn’t be upset with him for being distracted because he definitely was. Avery happened to be distracted as well, but she didn't want to put off meeting Finn. Even if it was raining. Again. But this time she was determined not to let it ruin... whatever it was they were doing. A date redo, maybe? She might have dressed up more, but it didn't seem like the right kind of weather to wear a sundress. But she took more care in her hair, and wore a little bit of makeup, careful to not overdo it. She wasn't soaked through the bone this time, so maybe that was a plus. ( You can kiss me whenever you want ) | ||||||||

| Who: Finn and Avery Where: the movie theater When: Early afternoon Finn had struggled with what to wear, but when he was sent home early from work due to the downpour, he was starting to worry less. By the time he'd made his way to the theater for their movie, his hair was dripping, his jacket over a plain henly was almost soaked through and looking dressed up or nicer than usual for his date with Avery seemed like a waste of time. He hoped she'd managed to stay drier, or they might both be uncomfortable. Shaking his hair out as best he could he searched the lobby of the theater, looking for Avery. | Who: Avery and Finn Where: The festival When: After the auction Once they were off the stage and out of the way, Avery felt she could breathe a little bit better. She had no idea where Darcy had dragged Liam off to, that poor guy, but her cousin was really the last thing on Avery's mind at the moment. "We never officially met, but I've seen you around," Avery told Finn, once they were sort of alone. At least not being watched anymore. She smiled at him and almost offered a hand, but that felt kind of weird, so she kept it at her side. "I'm Avery. My family owns the bar in town." ( because it could be ) | ||||||||
