Stroma Isle - In Character Community

I'm not sure what to think about our somewhat benevolent captors sending home so many people after giving us a nice, easy day with plenty of food yesterday.

Can those of you who are still here please check in? I'm trying to keep a list of who is around and it's hard to keep up.

You know, at first glance this is nicer than the last "deserted" island I was on.

Has anyone spoken to the creatures appearing in the water? It appears that they're trying to help us, but we won't know for sure until we make contact.

They look like the people who saved me when I got pulled overboard retrieving stuff from the ship.

So, I guess they're mostly safe? Or at least mostly safe to us?

Survivors will find more items on the beach, but now see heads poking up from the water's surface. Interactions can be had.

Um, hi? Never received an ominous letter and communication device upon arriving to a universe but, I've always wanted a phone and to see what the big deal was soooooooo, plus?

Can anyone direct me to where I might find this food? I assume the letter means other people from the multiverse, but I've been wrong before. Others doesn't mean ancient inhabitants, does it?

If it does that's cool. We can be friends. Why can't I leave!?!

Hey. I wanted to introduce myself. I got here a couple of days ago, but with the whole hell hound thing, I didn't get a chance to do this.

Name's John Sheppard. Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. Got a lot of experience exploring uncharted territory and fighting the unexpected. Is there some kind of organized security force? Seems like setting up a structured watch schedule might be a good idea in case something else happens.

I GOT IT! I found it! I know how to get rid of the hounds. Everybody find some chalk or something to draw with. Go to corners and draw a curve in front of them. It blocks the corner with roundness. It'll take a while, but eventually the hounds will have less and less access, grow bored and find something else to do.

I know this isn't the ideal situation - far from it - but the views here are incredible!

Is the water toxic? Is that why they warn us to stay out? It looks so fresh.

I have a lot of other questions that can probably wait, all things considered.

I'm used to weird, but this a whole new level of weird. I'm guessing no one has any idea who is behind all of this.

And where do these hounds keep coming from?

I am glad that wishing worked. I awoke to find a bow and arrows I haven't seen in years - but at least now I can better fight these foul creatures.

So much for being left alone.

My family and I are heading towards the gardens to help defend them from these beasts. Some help would be appreciated and likewise, if you need defending you can come there as well. There seems to be no end to the attackers no matter how many we kill.

Well that was...fun.

Mobius and I had a nice stroll around the perimeter of the island. It was a pleasant enough walk until we ran into the bloody GIANT TENTACLES!

Down on the southern shore of the island (near Red Geo, specifically--see the attached pic of the map in the lighthouse) enormous tentacles came whipping out of the water to try to grab us. We couldn't see what was attacking us. Which means it probably couldn't see us, either. Which might explain why the tentacles were fairly easy to avoid--it was groping blindly for something it couldn't see. Maybe it sensed us walking?

Also, the tentacles didn't like getting stabbed or slashed if they did grab you. Important safety tip.

I'm going to explore the edges of the island. Beaches, cliffs, whatever. Anyone else want to come along?

Did anyone notice a set of steps in the center of the island before? They don’t appear to lead anywhere. But I don’t remember seeing them on earlier sweeps of the terrain.

After a conversation I had with Nick, it seems that it might be a good idea for us to compare our worlds. --the ones we came from, anyway. We can see if there are commonalities, see if that leads us to ideas as to why we we chosen for this place?

Obviously, share only what you are comfortable sharing. No one is going to press anyone for details.

For me, I come from a place called Central City in Missouri. Apparently it doesn't exist in everyone's world.

I don't see any organized list of what assets we've got on this island yet. Guess I'll see about starting one. No questions about weapons. Keep your secrets. But what about:

Tools?
Raw materials?
Stored food?
Usable housewares? Linens, blankets, pillows, mattresses. Cookware, drinking vessels, plates, flatware?
Clothing?
Other things to be categorized later?
Fuels?

I've found a roll of chicken wire in a building down by the dock.
Also boxes of screw, bolts, nuts, and nails. Rusted but still usable.
Also what used to be a stack of dried peat behind one ruined cottage. It's no good now, but it means there's probably a peat bog here somewhere. And that means fuel.

I am getting severe weeping angel vibes. I just got here, and I want to go home.

So this is fun. I've been snatched up by powers unknown and dropped on a desolate rock somewhere near Scotland. And I'm not alone. I have you charming people for company.

So far I've gathered the following advice from reading your mail:
Do not fuck with the ghost at the docks.
Do not go into the lighthouse, or at least not to the upper floors.
Do not go into the water.
Do not go into the church full of burning, angry ghosts. (ETA)
