This place is beginning to feel more like a cruel prank than anything. I've lost them all over again

I'm not sure what to think about our somewhat benevolent captors sending home so many people after giving us a nice, easy day with plenty of food yesterday.

Can those of you who are still here please check in? I'm trying to keep a list of who is around and it's hard to keep up.

Has anyone spoken to the creatures appearing in the water? It appears that they're trying to help us, but we won't know for sure until we make contact.

It's definitely going to be a better day. I have my Grimoire. Now at least I can be properly useful.

So, will we talk about the mom-shaped elephant in the room?

What a pleasant surprise. My paint brushes turned up; Now I just need to make some paint.

Dr. Saltzman comes through, even from a dimension away.

I wished I had access to the books and weapons in his office. I didn’t get all of them, but I did get a chest full of some decent stuff.

This is a far cry from Europe.

I suppose the right thing to do is offer my help. If anyone is need of helping to fend these things off, feel free to reach out.

I try to keep my swearing to a minimum, but what the ever-loving hell are these things?

Pretty sure we all saw the threats and potential chaos going on in those posts. I'm recommending that we take it for what it is: Bluster brought on by ignorance. "Don't feed the trolls". I'm looking at you, Klaus and Kol.

Well, this is just bloody wonderful.

After a trip yesterday to check out the ship, and with help from some merfolk, Hope, Ben, and I returned with the following:
1 barrel of clean drinking water.
2 containers with a mix of blankets and food.

I don't know about the stairs (always such fun choose-your-own-adventure options) but Michelle and I brought back some goodies from the ghost ship that was here before. Beans, plenty of beans, and enough bolts of fabric to make clothes - if anyone's decent at sewing, now's your time to shine; let me know and I'll sign you up. The material is easy enough to work with - linen, silk, brocade, that sort of thing. But we could especially use the linen for the infirmary.

And speaking of that, check-ups are a good idea. If you haven't gone for one yet.

In case we haven't met, I'm Hayley. I met Nick at the feast and have spoken with Clayton. I was thinking that we should all meet up. Unless I'm mistaken, our kind works better as a group. I'm not talking about forming a Pack. Not everybody might be interested in that. I'm just suggesting that we talk about working together.

Anyone found a useful power source yet? I've been trying to find a way to extract the power from the phone, but it's like the laws of physics are actively being ignored.

It was nice of whoever brought us here to provide food for everyone and a chance to enjoy not having to worry for even a few minutes.

We need to try and figure out a way for Christian and I to feed. I'm doing my best by eating regular meals, but it's not going to keep us surviving for very long. Do we trust anyone enough to ask?

Since the person who penned the cows in unfortunately (or maybe fortunately depending on how you look at it?) disappeared, I wasn't sure how the magic would hold up so I went ahead and made a similar barrier to the one that holds the sheep. The cows are grazing and are protected. Because people obviously come and go, that means we sort of need to be discretionary about hunting and whatnot - not that anyone has gone and butchered cows as far as I know, but having some sort of system in place for breeding and butchering ensures a successful farm life (save for the inevitable hiccups that always occur when you're trying to maintain a farm). Where are all my other farm people at? I say 'other' I mostly mean 'you' because I haven't revisited that life in ages.

Anyway, vegan soap was next on my list (and it was discussed a little at the feast) so we don't have to butcher animals quite yet - if anyone wants to come with me to see what's out there in terms of alternatives for making soap, I could use an explorer buddy or two.

I saved some tomato wedges with seeds, some whole peppers and green onions from the feast last night. I frankly didn't expect them to last--but the feast is gone, and they're still here. I intend to plant some as soon as possible or prep them for later.

I know some of you were going to do likewise, or save some food. What else do we have now?

You have got to be fucking kidding me? Please tell me this is a joke and not the universe giving me the middle finger. I've got a life... a mission... my head on straight for once. Has anyone heard of Chuck Shurley?

Well, it seems I was not needed in New Orleans. I do hope that I can continue my research here. I'm Freya Mikaelson, I know my niece is here, but do I have any other family running about?
