I should be finishing up repairing my cottage today. I sacrificed the bedroom to get the roofing tiles and floorboards to repair the roof and flooring of the kitchen and living room, and I have a real, working door and shutters now. The fireplace works, too. The gas oven, not so much. I could convert it to use wood (or peat), but I don't see the point since I have the fireplace. It's probably more useful as a source of steel.
I want to thank Steve for helping me with the roof yesterday. And I want to thank Davina for soundproofing the place.
Is anyone up for a group effort at cutting peat and laying it out to dry? Without wood, that's our best source of fuel for cooking or heating.
