The stuff on the beach is no joke. I was just out there and found all sorts of things--cutlery and dishes, a box with all sorts of fabric... if only I knew how to sew! As I was collecting up some useful items, out of the corner of my eye I saw these strange heads poking up out of the water. But when I turned back again, they were gone.

It's definitely going to be a better day. I have my Grimoire. Now at least I can be properly useful.

I GOT IT! I found it! I know how to get rid of the hounds. Everybody find some chalk or something to draw with. Go to corners and draw a curve in front of them. It blocks the corner with roundness. It'll take a while, but eventually the hounds will have less and less access, grow bored and find something else to do.

I HAVE MY BOOKS! Well some of them. Nine to be exact. I just woke up and there they were. These are so going to help! Having my notes too would be good, but this is better. Yay!

If anyone needs help, please let me know. Back in my world, I fight things like this. Well, not these ones exactly, but I once fought hellhounds.

Well that was...fun.

Mobius and I had a nice stroll around the perimeter of the island. It was a pleasant enough walk until we ran into the bloody GIANT TENTACLES!

Down on the southern shore of the island (near Red Geo, specifically--see the attached pic of the map in the lighthouse) enormous tentacles came whipping out of the water to try to grab us. We couldn't see what was attacking us. Which means it probably couldn't see us, either. Which might explain why the tentacles were fairly easy to avoid--it was groping blindly for something it couldn't see. Maybe it sensed us walking?

Also, the tentacles didn't like getting stabbed or slashed if they did grab you. Important safety tip.

I think everyone needs to take a deep breath. Maybe put down your phones for a few hours.

We're not all going to like each other and that's okay. But we're all stuck here which means we have to rely on each other.

Whatever people may or may not have done at home shouldn't matter here. Unless you're HYDRA.

I expect this behavior from teenagers, but you all should know better.

Though I've been here a full week now this is the first time I've said anything publicly or introduced myself to anyone here. So, hello. I'm Castiel, an angel of Heaven, and companion of Dean Winchester, whom I protect fiercely and am extremely loyal to.

Among other things, I can normally heal injuries with a touch, though I've seen this new place may prove that wrong. I can fish and hunt, and I am also knowledgeable about plants and fish and insects, things that humans may need to eat if dire situations arise. I believe I can be useful here to former or non-humans here in many ways as well.

And that out of the way, I would like it to be known that I would prefer that my abilities are more helpful to the others here than wrathful, and I would hate to have to say try it and see, but if any threats against Dean become more than just talk, know that he has a guardian angel watching over him.

So we've been here a week now, and lots of people have arrived and lots of people have left.

It would be nice to know who is here, what your strengths are, and what you'd feel most comfortable doing here.

If you have abilities, you can tell us those, too (although that's entirely voluntary).

For me, I'm John. I'm nineteen years old. I'm immune to fire, I can heal, I can talk to animals, and I can copy other people's abilities. I'm working as a healer here.

People here need to drink blood to survive?

They can't just eat a well-balanced meal?

I've taken it upon myself to start collecting up all the books that I can find in the different houses around the island. I'm putting together a library. If anyone has any books to contribute, it'd be much appreciated. All will be welcome to borrow books from the library.

If anyone is interested in helping me collect some bookshelves, I'd love that, too. I figure I'll put it together in the house where I'm staying. There's plenty of room downstairs, and the place already has two walls covered in shelves.

Well, this is certainly a time. And speaking of time, that's mainly what I work with - studying the flow and path of newly diverged timelines, when those timelines become autonomous, and they could potentially intersect with others. Name's Mobius, and I used to work for an organization called the Time Variance Authority - but they proved to be pretty awful so now I guess I just call myself an independent contractor.

I arrived with Sharon from a universe I'm guessing no one is familiar with though some of the people may be familiar. Happy to pitch in however I can though I'm not much of a gardener or a hunter - I do speak every language on the timeline though, and that includes Gaelic, Scots, British Sign Language, and probably even Orkish. Judging by the position of some constellations (you get a better view of Scorpius here than we did in New York, for example) I'm guessing 'vague British Isles location' for where we are which was why I mentioned Gaelic but who knows if my brain is working right there.

Anyway, nice to meet everyone.

I would very much like to encourage all of our residents to come by the Infirmary for physical examinations. If you are comfortable with it, of course. Especially those who have any concerns, having been brought here from your own worlds.

Records would, of course, be kept strictly confidential. It would be good to have a baseline, just in case of illness or injury--to help our medical team best meet your healthcare needs.

I'm going to stay in the feast hall tonight, where the food is. But tomorrow I need to find someplace to live. Given the head start that a number of people have had, I expect that the most desirable (i.e., those requiring the least repair) cottages have been claimed. Also, many hands make light work. So.

Is anyone in the market for a housemate?

I can contribute to the repair and maintenance of said building. I am a pretty fair jack-of-all-trades, no stranger to hard work, and I can cook, among other skills. My mentors were strong believers in Heinlein's dictum that specialization is for insects.

So this is fun. I've been snatched up by powers unknown and dropped on a desolate rock somewhere near Scotland. And I'm not alone. I have you charming people for company.

I have good news, and bad news. There's plenty of fish at the port, and there's even some useful shit in the buildings. But, I didn't get any fish. The place is haunted, and I think I might be dying. If you decide to go down there, be careful. That ghost is a fucking bitch, and not very pleasant to be around.

Anyone want to join me in exploring some of the other nearby buildings to determine which ones are sound enough for folks to use? There are too many of us for the lighthouse, but we should probably try to stick close since we don't know what we're dealing with.

We also should figure out what we're dealing with in terms of food sources. I saw some gardens that look to be in rough shape, but can probably be revived. Anyone else have experience growing food? We have no idea how long we're going to be here, so we need to plan ahead.

This is fucking bullshit. It's almost worse than apocalypse world. At least there I had some weapons and a way out. Though, it is a plus that no one is shooting at me...yet.
