The Underworld is... a mess. Spirits are everywhere and are even coming back into the mortal realm. How can we get this machine working properly again? As much as I like having visitors in my home on a regular, I know they would be much happier where to belong.

so, i've decided that i'm going to have a taco / nacho / quesadilla / burrito party at my place on friday. if you don't have valentine's plans, come on over. hell, even if you do have plans, feel free to come have tacos before or after. i make a mean spread. and it won't kill you, i promise.

I've been traveling for so long that coming home to a home rather than a hotel is almost a new sensation. I enjoy it. There are comforts to having your own home. But I do miss room service.

Today's fashion is fascinating to me. What was once a sign of financial distress is now considered the height of good taste. Where flowing was once the way, form-fitting is now one of the best options. I went shopping for a while this week for a few new things and was just amazed at the sheer number of easily accessible dresses there were. No longer do you have to wait weeks for someone to make something for you. I think it is convenient, but I'm wondering if the personal style is being sacrificed to the name of good fashion.

Do you ever have dreams or think of things or people that you shouldn't know but the feeling is so strong that you do? I don't know, I'm rambling but I do know that my sleep schedule lately has been kind of off the wall.

Maybe I need a vacation.

Or a literal chill pill lol

The puppers probably think I'm a crazed human.

I'd like to have you all over for dinner soon. I know we talked about this late last year, but it never came to fruition. I am still learning so much about this world, and so much is returning to me. However, I feel stronger - and I think Erebus does as well - when I am surrounded by you. Does the 11th work? You are all, of course, welcome to bring guests.

I'd like another gathering of us all. It does me well to see you all in one place, though I understand you all have lives and occupations that may make this difficult.

um... UM.. WHAT THE FUCK?!

[When Charon gets the message from Hecate, it's very to the point. 'It is done.' A little thrill goes through him, and he decides right then to go and check out her work. It isn't that he doesn't trust her, but any excuse to go home is a good one. And it's a short trip, given that there's an entrance in the basement of Thanatos' home. Another reason moving in was a good choice.

It doesn't take him long to get to the newly made dock, and he can feel the magic the closer he gets. It's almost like it's reaching out, identifying him. Once it recognizes him, it lies quiet as he steps on the planks. It's well made and tightly woven magic, because of course it is. Hecate doesn't do sloppy work. He runs a hand over the prow of the boat, checking that the lantern swinging from the end hasn't rusted out. Everything seems fine. And he can rest easy that no one is going to be even stepping foot on his boat, let alone taking it anywhere. She was right, of course. Charon hadn't taken a vacation from his duties since the day he was born, it was high time he did so.

He cast a glance back at the banks of the river. It was empty now, but that could change in the blink of an eye. He shrugged mentally and sighed, scuffing at the ground with the toe of his shoe. No one had remembered him before, it was unlikely they'd miss him now. And even if they did, he'd be on a beach far away by the time they connected the dots.]

If anyone needs me, I'll be on a beach in Bermuda for the next week. Sun and sand and fruity drinks. Sounds like an excellent place to be in the winter.

Anyone wanna guess who just stayed up way too late to fill a special order for one of their best customers? That's right, this girl! Still, I think the 'Nightmare Before Christmas' cake pops came out really well. In fact, they've inspired me to make some Halloween cake pops.

Between those, and the pet-safe treats we're now offering, business at the cafe has been pretty good. My only complaint is that it doesn't give me all that much time to see people. Still, it's nice having some dedicated customers. That's gotta mean I'm doing something right, I think.

I'm incredibly thankful that almost no one can see me stomping around my morgue, occasionally muttering at some stubborn souls that they need to be quiet and move on. Seriously. Why the heck would you want to hang around a morgue for the rest of your afterlife? Move it along, guys. I've got stuff I need to be doing, and so does Thanatos. We can't keep dropping whatever we're doing to take you Below. (I mean. We probably will. But quit thinking you can out-stubborn me. I'm almost older than dirt.)

They're calling for rain and true fall temps tomorrow, so y'all know what that means.

If you guessed that it means turning into a blanket burrito and letting the rain be my sleep soundtrack, you are correct. I'm gonna enjoy this while it last, all too soon the skies will just dump 12 feet of snow on everything. And I am not about that life.
