On February 28th, 2020, I married the eternal love of my life. We spent two weeks in Greece after, being together, exploring, discovering new things about each other. I still look at my rings in disbelief and happiness. I never thought this would happen to me. I know the world is collapsing right now, and it breaks my heart. Please find silver linings wherever you can and please be careful. Hold tight to the ones you love, just like I am.

so, we've cancelled all events at the camp until further notice. and i cannot tell you how many angry emails and calls we've received from parents. how DARE we, you know, do what the WHO and the CDC have recommended us do. i am so so sorry that i don't want to possibly infect you and your children with this virus.

rich people piss me off.

i really enjoyed my initial time in the city, then i got pulled away by a job. and it took far longer than i thought that it would. which is always frustrating. but, at least it was worthwhile. i had hoped upon my return, it would be a bit more wintery. but, alas....

is it normally this mild in the winter here? how disappointing.

I've written about this before, but parents never cease to amaze me. I'm already getting special requests for our summer campers. It's amazing how soon people start to plan their summers. It is currently January 3rd. It is a Friday. Can't some of this wait? (Though, most of the emails I get this early come from personal assistants.) I know that this is complaining about the glory of riches, to a degree, but still. It's one thing to try and be conscientious and remind us of allergies because we do start planning food and things. It's another thing to let us know that if we're making camp t-shirts to make sure they aren't blue because Princess doesn't wear blue. (Yes. This is a real request.)

There's something awful about having to cancel a winter camp session because you no longer have enough students for it. And having to explain to rich parents that you need to have a certain number of students and you no longer do because a city disappeared. And having those parents mad because they'll have to have their child with them for their typical ski trip to Switzerland instead of ditching them with us. I hate people sometimes.

Today was one of those days that I miss some of my loved ones so very much.

I haven't seen several of them in a while and I can't remember the last time I saw my dear Helios.  It's been a couple of years now, that much I do know.  I can't help wondering if he's all right since usually, he's never out of contact for this long.  Of course, he might also be in one of his random foul tempers. In which case, I really want him nearby so I can help get him to calm himself again. He's never at his best after one of his tempers.

In less depressing news, I saw that there was a new dancer at one of the clubs I used to frequent before I got busy again with the job. Apparently, he has eyes you could drown in if you get close enough to him.  This is something that I definitely want to see in person. After all, you never know what a fun time you can have with someone fitting that description.

Lethe, do you have any pressing plans tonight?  If not, I do believe that the two of us should make a night of it.  We haven't done that in a week or two.
