As of the morning of November 4th, there have been three noted deaths, one of which the cause is still unknown; the other two have been quite bloody. Of those two, both have people claiming a mark on their body and nightmares, but the mark is not present on the corpse upon inspection. Those people had also been having recurring nightmares.
A key was found in Zurlo's personal effects on November 2nd by Cade and Roger. This key was to a room at the Hog's Head. Aberforth was questioned and he reported that there was no one by the name of Zurlo was staying there, but he did have a boarder that disappeared a couple of days ago. The room was left alone if he came back as he'd been staying there several months. When the room was searched, what was found included a month's supply of polyjuice potion, old letters between members of his family talking about the Zurlo treasure, specifically something about a box, and the usual batch of wizard porn. Upon rechecking the crime scene, Cade discovered that there was a box missing from the inventory of the room, meaning that someone had been in there after the body was first discovered.
As for Harry's personal effects, his magical journal, if unhexed, revealed the following private posts:
- one - talking about nightmares.
- two - a bit more details on nightmares, plus his speculations about Zurlo being connected to this rash of nightmares.
He also had a notebook at work that had any notes regarding the Zurlo case, including the speculations he had based on Hermione's research, specifically about Pandora, the first woman, her box of ills and hope, and the possibility of nightmares being caused by some great magical disturbance. On another page there's a scribbled note about Pandora myths, the boxes of ills, and the question as to whether something like that could exist. On yet another are speculations about magical happenings that could cause nightmares. There's really not very much to go on there. Everything all together it's a bit jumbled as though Harry's lack of sleep was affecting his work.
