Who: Justin Finch-Fletchley and Theodore Nott.
What: Just another day at Nature's Garden.
When: November 4, 2003; 10:00 AM.
Where: Nature's Garden, Diagon Alley.
Rating: It's likely not going to be very worksafe.

Last night was terrible, there wasn't any other way to put it really. Upon startling awake, Theodore took the last of his Dreamless Sleep Draught which had in turn knocked him out until the morning. When he had awoken for the day he had determined that the best plan was to at the very least maintain and continue to grow the ingredients of such a potion...just as it was probably the best way to contain the costs of a potion for every other night. He needed some of the ingredients for work anyways, so he was being rather sensible.

Theodore needed more fertilizer for that and the garden around Mynydd House. It was something of a tribute to how the way things were, or at least what he really remembered of it since it was so long ago. In any case, the garden would make for a good distraction later in the day as he didn't have work lined up. He walked up an aisle looking at various fertilizers.

Justin had thankfully slept soundly the night before, without nightmares or visions, and without being kept awake by thoughts of dead friends or arguments with his best mate. For the first time in days, he was starting to feel normal - normal for him, that was.

He needed some more grape plants for some of his wine experimentation, and the best magical varieties he'd found at Nature's Garden - where there were quite a few fit employees that were always up for a flirt. He hadn't really flirted in days - he may have tried a little the other day with Anthony, but that was exceptionally tame for him. Grief tended to do that to him (he'd barely shagged the entire year after his father's death).

As expected, a pretty witch greeted him when he entered, and she gladly showed him to a long table where there were a few varieties of grapes to choose from. She then excused herself to attend to another customer, and he bent over the table to better inspect the plants.

He reached out to feel the texture of a leaf, shifting his weight from one leg to the other.

Stepping back for a moment from the Fertilizer Hunt, Theodore had asked the saleslady for the brand that he was looking for but couldn't find. Promising that she would return shortly after checking the back room, she disappeared leaving Theodore waiting in the aisle. He noticed that there was someone else in the aisle, bent over, looking at something.

It wasn't completely below him to take such opportunities to observe. He never did see many people during the day, much less those who were worth looking at. Perhaps this was part of why he enjoyed people watching: if it weren't interesting to listen to what they had to say, it was at least enjoyable to take in the physiology of some sorts.

The leaves were nicely textured, but unfortunately that wouldn't tell him anything about how the grapes would taste, particularly after the wine-making process. As it was a mature plant, there were a couple of bunches of grapes that looked plump and ripe.

He snuck a peek around to check and see if the clerk were still there, and only saw another customer. Who happened to be looking in Justin's direction, and who was quite fit-looking. He also looked familiar, but just in the way that faces often looked familiar when most people went to the same school.

He playfully winked at the bloke, then plucked a grape from the vine. "You won't tell anyone, will you?" he said before popping it into his mouth, biting into it to taste the flavour before chewing slowly.

Most other folks would have instantly looked away after being caught staring at someone. But Theodore wasn't that easily flustered. Not by that at least. "I'm not the sort who would tell," he said with a shrug. "I doubt they'd arrest anyone for stealing a grape, as entertaining as that may be."

He tried to place the face, as familiar as it was. It looked like someone from their year--obviously of a different house. And it obviously wasn't someone around in their final year, as back then he had taken care to learn who just about anyone and everyone was.

"How is it anyways? The grape, that is."

"I've had better," he admitted with a shrug, then smiled. "I've had worse, too. Then again, it doesn't quite taste right until it's been processed right. The best grapes are those that have been turned into wine."

His fingers played in the plant until they finally plucked off another grape. "Would you like a taste? I could always use a second opinion."

"Well of course," Theodore said with a grin to the offer. "I haven't the foggiest as to what I would be speaking to or comparing from, but I'm fairly sure that there is an opinion in here, somewhere."

He approached to have a bit of a closer look at the plant. "So it is wine that you're after. I suppose it makes sense now given the type of plant you are looking at. It looks like it will be a lot of work"

His smile grew when the bloke stepped closer. He could feel a tug of attraction at his navel, and unconsciously bit his bottom lip. This was just what he needed, something real, spontaneous, and normal.

"I've been trying a few experiments, trying to find a combination that will make a wine that's... creative. Unique."

He stepped forward, lifting the grape and pressing it against the bloke's lower lip. "Here, taste."

Theodore curiously observed the man's subtle reactions, he was often good at catching and interpreting things like that. Just since he spent much of his time when surrounded by people learning how to observe, after all. "That is commendable then; it's near impossible to find something truly unique. But the quest for that is commendable."

Theodore took the offered grape into his mouth but not before a playful nip and lick of the finger that offered it. "Delicious," he simply said, with a smile. And it felt like its been awhile. Body language was never really lost on him. And if he by some off chance was mistaken, he could've still more easily and readily drawn and hexed the poor, unsuspecting soul.

The nip sent a shiver through Justin's body, and he was severely tempted to just try and take the other man there and then. He still might.

"I think I've something a mite more delicious than that, if you'd like a taste," he replied, sliding the nipped finger sultrily along the man's jaw, down his shirt, toward where it met trousers. "Perhaps you'd like to head back to mine, for a personal taste test?"

There wasn't anything like being right, especially when it was about something particularly interesting. "Really? Well now you have my curiousity and set my expectations rather high." He paused for a second as if to to step back and appraise the situation and the man before him. "But you don't look like the sort to disappoint."

"I don't want to keep you from your business though," he said as if he really were able to let this go right now. He wasn't, but he wasn't expecting the other bloke to stop either.

"Oh, but the tasting of my wares is quite important business," he insisted. He slid his finger through a belt loop and pulled the bloke close again. "And it may sound cliche, but my business is pleasure."

His free hand slid around the bloke's neck and drew him close, until they were almost but not quite kissing. "Unless you'd rather we go to yours... that could definitely be my 'business' too."

"I don't mind either way. I suppose that's the story of my life though. And I have time since I work to live, never the other way around." Well that and the contracts were typically well dispersed. It was often either feast or famine. But he never worried himself too much over that since he found that he could manage well enough.

"There are no disturbances to be expected where I reside. But if you can say the same is true for yourself, I wouldn't mind somewhere new."

"Oh, no disturbances at mine," he assured with a lascivious grin.

He nuzzled forward, his breath ghosting over his companion's skin as their noses brushed together. "And I love a man who enjoys something new every now and then."

He finally closed the distance, giving in to the need to kiss this bloke that intrigued and aroused him so.

Theodore had felt the tension just lingering as he felt the man's breath on his skin, a tingling tension that was cut when he had finally kissed him. He kissed back in a way that was telling of the hunger that didn't have anything to do with a missed breakfast.

Pulling away with a gentle bite of the man's bottom lip he looked at him with a teasing smile. "So are we just going to snog here all day to either the horror or the delight of the sales clerk who will be shortly returning? I don't have much of a problem with that, but I'd rather not get thrown out of the store."

"You're right," Justin replied with a glint in his eye. "Getting caught is so much more fun when the person joins in, instead of kicking you out."

He slipped his arms around the other man's waist and pulled him close. "Now just close your eyes, and I'll Apparate us there. Don't worry, I won't splinch you," he teased.

And with a pop, they disappeared from the shop, reappearing in Justin's bedroom. The room was dressed in shades of black and gold, with shiny silk sheets on an opulently comfortable bed. The room had the neatness of a place regularly cleaned, and the luxuriousness of the well-off. It was obviously a place of comfort, the best money could buy.

"Open your eyes," he teased, pulling the bloke even closer until their hips met, arousals brushing against each other through layers of cloth.

Well this was a bit different than he had expected. But then again, this person obviously had time on his hands to live as care-free as he appeared. His place resembled Malfoy's place in some ways more than anything else. Not that he had ever been to his classmates bedroom, but the degree of opulence was similar. "A nice place you have," he said in all honesty--although it was a bit of an understatement. At least this man wasn't some vagrant or something.

He purposefully shifted his hips again, just to 'assess' the situation. "Excited are we?" he breathed into his companion's ear before moving his arms around the man's waist and taking the his lips back into his.

Justin moaned against the other man's lips. He closed his eyes and just felt his way along, sliding hands up the bloke's shirt and searching out the buttons. They'd come this far, and there was no doubt where they were headed. The sooner clothing got out of the way, the better.

He pulled out of the kiss to playfully bite the luscious bottom lip, then dove right back into another kiss. First, one button. Then another. His hand impatiently slid inside the opened shirt to glide along warm skin.

The one thing he had a difficult time explaining to others is how, every time he touched someone, it felt like coming home. It didn't matter who they were or what they did, but that touch of skin on skin settled his mind like nothing else. This was no different, and his body relaxed as contact was made.

So this was what was missing for the past while, Theodore had concluded with what little resource he hadn't dedicated to the experience itself. The anticipation was maddening. (And the sort of mad he didn't mind succumbing to, which is not of the same sort that he had recently awoken to--a good change.) He gasped slightly at the hand that had made its way to his chest, since everything seemed cold to warm flesh.

His own hands trailed along his companion's waist, untucking his shirt from his pants. And trying to make short work of the belt buckle, should he have enough room to get that deal with right away.

Justin's hips moved instinctively at the effort to undo his belt, giving the room that was needed while still encouraging touch.

He slowly pulled out of the kiss again, suckling on the bloke's lip before finally pulling away and trailing his lips along his jaw, then lavishing attention on the bloke's neck.

More buttons were undone, and tails pulled from trousers, until the shirt hung loose on his partner's frame. His lips moved from neck to collar bone, hands growing greedy as they reached to caress more available skin.

Finally gaining victory over the belt, Theodore quickly made away with the bloke's pants. His fingers gently caressed the warmth of the arousal that was under yet another layer. It would soon be dealt with. He had limited patience, but anticipation did make what was delicious much more than that.

He moaned when he felt lips on his collarbone, drawing himself closer to his companion once more as if to urge him onward.

Justin hissed and nearly bit on the nearest piece of flesh upon feeling fingers intimately caressing him. He started pushing the shirt over the bloke's gorgeous shoulders, but not throwing it off for fear of losing the precious fingers from his arousal.

His eyes opened, taking in the expanse of skin...

And paused upon seeing an eerily familiar dark spot marring the pale skin.

He lifted a finger to nervously touch the spot, then looked up to meet the other man's eyes. "What's this?" he asked, not certain if he wanted to know the answer. After all, he was beginning to realize it looked very much like the spot he'd been shown by Ernie. But that was impossible.

"What's what?" Theodore asked, his thoughts at least somewhat dulled by his blood rushing elsewhere.

When he did draw back into focus, he drew his shoulders into a shrug. "I'm not sure, but it isn't doing anything--it hasn't in the past few days. I think it will eventually disappear. If it doesn't by the end of the week, I'll have it checked. I highly doubt it is contagious as I've been showing no other symptoms of anything. It's just there."

His piece being said, and still feeling quite aroused he pressed to continue. "It's no big deal, right?" he whispered, as he let his lips find their way to his companion's neck.

Justin's legs went a little wobbly at the attention to his neck - always a sensitive place - and he was torn between just giving into the moment, and his concern for his best mate. He threaded fingers into the bloke's dark hair to keep his head where it was most wanted.

"Oh, don't worry, it's not a deal-breaker," he said breathily. However, the nagging feeling inside wouldn't go away, and broke through his lust again. "My best mate has the same thing, on his side. He said it appeared after he'd had a nightmare."

Theodore for a moment was relieved to hear that business can continue as usual, but was drawn back once more to the topic at hand once there was mention of the nightmare. He wish he didn't hear what he had managed to as he had unavoidably, instinctively shivered at the mere thought of the nightmares.

"He did?" Fear--another primal instinct started to seep in. His voice most readily betrayed the more sombre thoughts that crossed his mind...the ones that he was trying his best to avoid.

Justin could feel a subtle shift in the bloke's body. That was all the confirmation he needed to know that something was going on, but if Ernie didn't know, then how would this wizard? He could hear the change in the tone of voice, and it called to the part of him that had always been there to comfort and distract friends when they'd most needed.

"He did," Justin affirmed, taking the man's face between his hands and holding it so that their eyes could meet. "And if you like, we can talk about it later. But for now, I don't know about you, but," he smiled to distract, "I could use a bloody good rogering."

His hips rolled against the man's to remind a certain part of him of the best distraction of all. "And something tells me you're the man for the job."

Theodore still felt rather tense, and had let out a deep sigh when he was reminded. "It's not like a shag would make it any worse," he said aloud trying to remind himself more than anything else of the opportunity.

There was something that had really bothered him about the news as the dreams on their own just shook him up. Perhaps since it felt like additional proof that it was more. More than just a crazy old dream.

"Hey, I'll have you know that a shag with me will make anything better, even chocolate," Justin teased, but felt as if the moment was, if not had already slipped through his fingers.

His usual positive attitude tried to reassure him that it was all for the best, but he failed to agree.

With a sigh, Justin took the bloke by the hand, sat down on the mattress, and tugged to invite the wizard down with him. "So, I'm guessing you had a dream too. Did you want to tell me about it? I'm impartial, after all. Hell, I don't even know your name."

Which was fine with him, he didn't mind the 'shagging a stranger' fantasy.

Theodore hesitated for a moment, but the bed did look inviting enough and he wondered if he was in any condition to apparate at this point. And so he took a seat next to Justin and subsequently listed the facts off in a more matter of fact tone of voice. "Theodore Nott, Hogwarts, class of '98, Slytherin. I don't respond to Theo or Teddy as I'm not god or a stuffed animal. Pleased to meet you."

"And as for the dream--It was the whole drowning in one's own blood-from-having-one's-teeth-slowly-removed-type dream." He was somewhat surprised that he was able to speak of it aloud. He hadn't actually done so since dreaming such dreams. He felt his heart pounding as he paused, still composed, but the tension clear. He wished that he could've just ignored it all and returned to the regular programming but now that it was there...it just was there.

"I knew you looked a little familiar," Justin said after Theodore identified himself. "Justin Finch-Fletchley, Hufflepuff, class of '99." Technically it was the truth, but only because of that missing year. Otherwise, they'd have been in the same class. Probably had been in several, but since the two houses didn't exactly get along well, it wasn't surprising that he wouldn't have remembered.

He listened to the description with a wince of disgust. "That sounds disgusting, and horrible. Sounds like torture... that's what my friend said about his dream, that he was being tortured. Blood everywhere and everything."

He rubbed his thumb comfortingly over the back of the hand that he still held. "It couldn't have been easy, to experience that, even if in a dream."

It at least confirmed what he had thought earlier about the bloke being vaguely familiar. And it even explained why he wouldn't have completely recognized him.

"By all definitions it was. And for someone's amusement, even," he added looking down at the mattress, feeling distinctively disturbed. He knew of and heard various accounts of the sorts that served the Dark Lord. Something like this shouldn't be something that startled him since it was a reality at some point. But the stories were one thing and a visual was clearly another. He wasn't quite fond of blood to begin with, so the images of people being tortured just didn't sit well.

He took his other hand and placed it on top of Justin's hand. It was oddly comforting to have some sort of physical contact with someone--he felt at least somewhat grounded, at least.

"Did you see someone else in the dream then? Or hear, or feel them?"

He remembered Ernie saying something similar. This was beginning to feel all too wrong, and couldn't be coincidence, not with this amount of detail.

Justin nodded. "He didn't go into overmuch detail - and to be honest, I was kind of quick to chalk it off as nothing but a bad dream - but yeah, he did."

He reached out his spare hand and touched Theodore's chin, turning his face so that their eyes met. "If you want, I can give him your name. He's a Hit-Wizard, so he's a reliable sort, and can keep a secret. It might help to talk with someone who's going through the same thing."

The fingers moved from chin to forehead, brushing away a stray lock of hair before running down Theodore's temple in a comforting caress. "It's kind of spooky, you know? But... you should talk to him. I won't tell him unless you say I can give him your name, though."

Just as he wouldn't give Ernie's name unless his best mate said he could.

"Quite spooky." Theodore took a minute to consider the offer, breaking eye contact for a moment so that he could think. He barely knew whether he wanted to speak of it again, really. It was almost the same as reliving it, and he had already done so enough already.

"I think I'll be alright," he said after considering it. "I don't think I am interested in talking about it again. But if you do run into him, feel free to mention it."

Justin nodded, understanding the wish to keep such things to one-self, yet still thinking Theodore should speak to someone. He would definitely make a point to mention it to Ernie.

"Then let's not talk about it anymore," he offered. He moved in to kiss Theodore again, softer and gentler than before. With the kiss he questioned interest in something more, and offered simple comfort either way.

Theodore felt himself get drawn into a kiss. What better anaesthetic is there? He still felt as if there was a stone in the pit of his stomach, but it was only for now. Distractions did help. He moved his hand to caress Justin's jaw, and shifted over slightly to deepen the kiss.

A good shag wasn't going to solve the problem, but it wasn't going to make things worse. He was fairly sure that his reasoning was at least somewhat reasonable.
