Hey everyone! This is just a quick note to let you all know that the current plot will be ending Sunday night/Monday morning at midnight (EST). All characters will wake up in the morning in their regular beds and everything will have returned to Colligo standards of "normal". The only exception to this will be anyone who was killed in the course of the plot. They will either wake up where they were buried, or return through the library in the event that their body was fully destroyed and therefore incapable of being buried. Obviously, if you want to have your characters post starting at midnight about waking up with their memories returned and whatnot, feel free. No one is going to make you wait until Monday morning to actually post.

As an additional note, Adam Young made a post here about people with reality-warping abilities. In that post, he and Jesse Winchester discussed all of those capable of doing such a thing getting together and deciding, at one time, that everyone in Colligo will remember who they are, etc. That is how we are ending the plot. The actual action itself will simply be handwaved, as there are too many characters in the city who fall under this category to feasibly do a thread. However, if you feel your character might qualify - and obviously we're mostly talking about any who can control/manipulate reality and/or thoughts of those around them - then please have them either respond to that post or let us mods know you'd like them involved. It's really that simple.

Thank you all for making this plot such a success! We will have a new one ready to go soon and, as always, if you have any suggestions for possible upcoming plots, feel free to respond here or contact us.

Hey guys!

With that little musical interlude over and done with, the Collector has decided to toss out a situation that has the potential for both angst and hilarity. Introducing the Canon Ageswap Plot! Beginning at midnight tonight (EST), Asaph will be influencing certain individuals in the city to swap places with either an younger or older version of themselves that exists within their canon.

Of course, this is entirely voluntary. Not everyone has to be swapped nor will everyone necessarily be able to.

Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind for the plot. Cut to spare the flist. )

Also, please note that characters who are changed for this plot will have no knowledge of their time in Colligo. They will wake up wherever they normally sleep, already changed into another version of themselves, and will not know where they are or any of that. It's very similar to bringing in a character, except they won't arrive in the library.

Hello everyone! At midnight tonight (EST), the bodyswap plot will start. This plot, brought to you not by Asaph but rather by a very bored Q Junior, will begin with a post from the troublemaker responsible. After that, everyone who is affected is welcome to begin posting with their character in the body they've been assigned.

Below the cut, you're going to see the list of pairings. There is also a list of guidelines and reminders. Please make certain to read over them and, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to respond to this post!

Hey all!

This is just a note to let everyone know that the plot ended at midnight tonight! We meant to post this sooner but real life got the better of us today, unfortunately. Sorry about that!

Anyway. So yes. The plot ended. For those characters who might not have noticed and went to sleep in the same bed with their 'temporary spouse', they will wake up in their own bed tomorrow morning instead. For those who might notice through some way, shape, or form, feel free to run with it and have them separate sooner rather than later.

Plot Preperation Update

Okay! So, since the initial post about the upcoming New Years plot has already gotten over 170 comments and therefore is tricky to navigate, we decided to put up another one.

Please respond here if you do not have pairings for your characters so we can get the rest of the folks paired off before the plot starts! We know there are still some out there who either haven't been able to find anyone or who weren't able to get online yesterday to comment, and we don't want to leave anyone out!

Hey everyone!

The Mods here, with information regarding the Halloween plot! This plot will begin at midnight, Monday night (October 31) going into Tuesday (November 1) and will end at midnight the following Sunday night (November 6) going into Monday (November 7).

• Along with trick-or-treating for the younger crowds (and those who might be taking the younger crowds out), there will also be a costume party on Monday night. This is being thrown by Gabriel, the resident Archangel, at the nightclub The Serpent's Den that he just inherited from AJ Crowley.

• Come midnight anyone who is in costume - whether they are at the party, at home and simply asleep with their costume on, walking down the street, whatever - will turn into their costume for the remainder of the plot. This means they will actually think they are whatever it is they dressed as for Halloween. So if your character is dressed as a pirate, they are going to think, and behave, as though they are a pirate until the plot ends.

• The only exception to this are if your character dressed as some sort of inanimate object. Obviously, if they are dressed as an M&M or a fire hydrant, they won't physically become these things. However, they can and will become animals if they opt to dress as a cat or shark or something.

• If there are characters who opt to dress as bad guys/pschos/monsters/etc., they can feel free to kill, maim, and/or attack as many locals as they'd like. Please make sure you have full player permission before doing the same to any played character, though, and keep in mind if you opt to have your character killed off by someone dressed as Michael Myers, they will stay dead until the plot ends.

• Feel free to have fun with this plot but do keep in mind that no characters will turn back to themselves until it ends.

So! To recap: If your character is in costume at midnight on Halloween, they are going to become that costume. If they die, they're dead until it's over. If they kill people, they'll be killing people until it's over. If you don't want them to become their costume but still want them to participate in the party and various other Halloween-themed events in the city, dress them as something that isn't living. Or feel free to have them out of costume by midnight, when the change occurs. That works too.

Rejoice, Colligoans! At midnight, your characters' memories will be returned to them and they will once again be fully aware of who they are, what they do, and where (and who) they belong with. Feel free to have them express their collective embarrassment over whatever inappropriate shenanigans that they might have gotten up to during the amnesia plot, but they might be a bit preoccupied with realizing that they entire city has changed around them overnight.

Instead of the thriving metropolis that everyone is used to, Colligo has become a town which looks as though it was pulled straight out the American Old West or any number of cowboy movies that have been made over the years. The locals, obviously, have no idea that anything has changed and are quite happy to go on living their lives as though they've always lived their lives like this. Because, to them, this is how it's always been.

There are a few essential changes to the city that the non-locals will notice:
  • Buildings have changed to be more era appropriate. The apartments, for example, have become sort of old time inns. Bars will become saloons and clubs might become card halls or brothels. The Colligo Police Department is now the office of Sheriff Danny Williams and his posse.

  • Characters' businesses will become period appropriate as well. It's really up to you all as players what your characters' businesses have become. Just keep it reasonably true to the time period.

  • All vehicles are now horses or horse-drawn carriages. A character's personal vehicle will be changing into whatever suits its original form. For example, a fancier car just might turn into a carriage drawn by multiple horses while a motorcycle may become just one horse. Likewise, the city's monorail system is now trains, and there are stations around the area.

  • All clothing has become appropriate to the era. Which, yes, ladies, this most likely means your wardrobe is filled with frilly, awfully decorated dresses. Don't feel obligated to wear them, though, if it's not your character's style. Feel free to snag a pair of britches from one of the guys and defy cultural standards. Some people might also find that the clothing they end up with is less historically accurate and more Hollywood Western. Wild Wild West, anyone?

  • The PDAs and network still function, but they are the only modern technology in the city. As players, we're asking you to suspend your disbelief, but the characters are welcome to be a bit WTF? about having a network when they're in the old west.

  • The locals, as usual, won't notice anything wrong. In fact, they too will be changed to suit the period. So expect a few more outlaws and some gruff farmers/saloon girls/other people you might expect in a Western.

  • If you need some references on the Wild West, you can find some information here and here.

Other than that, we're pretty much leaving it up to you guys. So have fun and enjoy the plot. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to comment here or contact us.

Hey everyone!

Voting is done and Tabula Rasa has won out. We will still be using the other plots coming up, but we'll be starting with this one as it got the most votes.

Starting at midnight all characters will have absolutely no memory of who they are. They will pass out suddenly wherever they are and when they wake up they will have no memories. You don't have to have them pass out at home, and in fact we encourage you to be creative in terms of where they are and who they're with. If you've seen the Buffy episode Tabula Rasa, then you have some idea of the things people can wrongly decide about their lives. Maybe two friends will wake up together and assume they're a couple. Maybe the X-Mansion will all decide they're trapped in a government experiment. Get creative with this and have fun.

In terms of personal memory, characters will be completely blank slates. This won't effect their personalities, they aren't becoming pod people. They also won't be forgetting facts. They'll still be able to math and define what iambic pentameter is (unless they couldn't before this). But they won't remember anything about their lives. In addition anything that would tell them who they are is gone. Photographs aren't around, nameplates are gone from the apartments, and the PDAs no longer have the characters' names. Likewise, all backlogs of the network are inaccessible, so that people can't simply look back to find out about themselves. Anything that would identify them is absent.

All characters will maintain their abilities, but they won't know that they do and they won't necessarily have the same level of control they usually do since they're not aware of their powers. The same goes for skills. If someone has years of ninja training, or can pick a lock in four seconds, they'll still be able to do so. They just won't know that they can. This does have potential to be both interesting and destructive, given some characters are rather powerful, so please be responsible and realistic when dealing with this aspect of the memory loss. Try not to have your character destroy half the city or immediately go and break out of their apartment through a ventilation shaft even though they shouldn't know they can do that.

Hello all! The Mods here with information on the brand new plot we're starting right... well, now, actually. This is one of those plots that will affect everyone in the city so please make sure to read this post carefully and, of course, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Basically? The natives are getting restless. Which means that the locals are getting a little sick of their city getting messed up by all these non-locals. Therefore, over the next few days, the locals are going to start being far less polite, much, much ruder, and those with violent tendencies (such as the criminal sort) will become more prone to violent reactions that seem a little more extreme than really necessary. As far as that last one goes, please have these things happen very sparingly as, again, this is a progressive situation.

Please note that the locals will, however, act perfectly normal toward other locals. This is just a reaction they are all having toward the characters in the city. Also, as stated, this is a gradual thing. So please do not immediately have riots occurring in the streets or people being beaten up by CEOs and locals in law enforcement or anything. Mostly it's just rude reactions and downright unfriendly behaviors all around.

We will update here in a few days with more things that the locals are going to be doing in an effort to get non-locals out of the city. For now, keep it fairly mild but feel free to have characters note that things are different.

Hello all! The mods here, with a couple quick things.

First up, as we mentioned earlier, the Christmas In July plot is starting to wind to a close. Over the next few days, the temperatures are going to start rising and the snow is going to melt. The decorations will slowly start being taken down in shops and Christmas music will stop. This is going to happen gradually but all of it will be gone entirely by August 1st.

It's also time for a new plot! Starting at midnight tonight, characters are going to start changing ages. Whether they get older or younger is up to you. You can even age them up for a bit then age them down for a while, or vice versa. The plot is fairly lax in that regard and, as always, you don't have to participate at all if you'd rather not. However, we do have a few rules to go with whichever option you choose.

New Plot

Hey, everyone.

As we said yesterday, the Glitch plot ends at midnight tonight. Also, at midnight a new plot will be starting that will last for two weeks. We don't really have a clever name for this plot, but we think it will be a good opportunity for characters to branch out and interact with people with whom they might not otherwise.
Basically for the next two weeks, nobody will be able to interact with anyone from their fandom. They won't be able to see or hear them in them in person. So, if Alaric and Damon are in a room together, they won't actually be aware of each other or able to interact. But if Parker's there, she'll be able to see both of them and talk to both of them. They just won't be able to deal with each other at all. So Ric would hear the things Parker says, but not Damon's responses. Similarly, they won't be able to contact one another electronically, receive any messages from one another, or see anything posted by canon-mates on the network. They also cannot communicate via notes, smoke signals, interpretive dance, shadow puppets or carrier pigeons (sorry, Tesla). Or anything else you guys can think of. They are simply persona non grata to each other. Their names will still be on the plaques and their things will be there, so it's clear they're not gone from the city, but they can't interact.

For two weeks, everyone will be cut off completely from their canon-mates. They'll still be able to interact with anyone else they know in the city, but anyone from their own fandom is off-limits. This extends to entire fandoms. So even though Rogue and Loki never interacted within their own canons, they're both from the Marvel universe and would not be able to see or talk to one another. Similarly, characters from Doctor Who and Torchwood would not be able to interact, nor would John Constantine and Dream, whose fandoms coexist with Vertigo comics. They can check on one another through non-fandom third parties, but we ask that this be kept to a minimum. If we feel like characters are abusing this, we will talk to the players about it.

This extends to children, because we feel the children in the game (Grace, Mordred and Maggie) have formed enough connections to be able to be played without interacting with their guardians. Children born in game, as they don't have a set fandom and are too young to feasibly be separated from their parents (Abigail Pendragon, Jack and Meredith Winchester, Elspeth Pond, and Caden Winchester), will be unaffected. NPCs (such as Jaenelle's Warlord Princes) will likewise be unaffected.

To some degree, it will be as if people who cohabitate with canon-mates are existing in parallel versions of reality, where they are unable to be aware of the actions of others. So if James is showering or reading a book, or making tea, Lily will not hear the shower or see a book hovering in the air, or find random tea. They're completely removed from one another. (It'll be sort of like that episode of Buffy when Willow came back to Sunnydale and couldn't interact with anyone because none of them realized she was there and vice versa.) Seriously though, this is not the weirdest stuff to ever happen in Colligo. (Soap Opera Plot, anyone? Sex Water? Gremli...oh wait, that hasn't happened yet. Pay no attention.)

Those with abilities that allow them to sense or locate others or communicate in other ways (Molly Suresh, Charles Xavier, Peter Petrelli, etc.) would also not be able to use their abilities. And items like the Marauders' Map and two-way mirrors, or other items that would locate people, won't give their locations.

The plot, as mentioned before, will run two weeks, ending at midnight on Friday, July 15. Hopefully this will prove an interesting challenge for characters within the game and a fun experiment for the players.

Edit: As it has been pointed out that the plot is set to end mid-full moon, werewolf characters won't have the effect end until they turn back to human form.

Hello all! The mods here with a few quick announcements.

• As the month of June draws to an end, so does the current plot. The Glitch Plot will officially end at midnight tomorrow night (June 30th, heading into July 1st). At that point, all fail!filters/DYAC/mass!texting/etc. will cease and the PDAs will begin to function normally once more.

• At the same time that plot ends, another will begin. We will have more specifics on this tomorrow so keep an eye on your friends' page!

• We wanted to take a second to remind people that the locals, while certainly capable of being 'turned off' if asked the correct questions, are still very much functional people. They aren't wholly incompetent nor are they slow-witted. They actually keep the bulk of the city running and range in personality and employment just like citizens of any other city.

• We have recently changed the added note in the acceptance message that covers the damage done to the city following the Christmas Invasion. There is still damage to be found but there is clear progress being made in the rebuilding process, so feel free to have your characters take note (or not) if you'd like!

Hello lovelies!

Just a note from the mods real quick to cover a few questions we've been asked regarding a recent gamewide development. Namely, the Collector's decision to bring various places/things/beings from other realities to Colligo.

For the most part, this is meant to signify a shift in the game. Now that the city isn't shut off from the rest of the planet, and exploration is possible even if living outside of the city currently is not, the Collector wants reasons for people to want to stick around too. Which is why he's decided to allow things from home to start popping up. However, we of course don't want things to get completely out of hand, so there are a few guidelines.

As each situation is unique and this is something fairly new that can impact the game in a large way, we ask for the time being that anyone who wants to bring in any item/being/place from home that they please ask us first. Friday the 13th Mini!Plot

Hello all! Just a quick note from the Modly Ones.

As today is Friday the 13th, we couldn't let this superstitious day go by without doing something to the poor sods at Colligo. So! Starting this morning, which means that yes, backdating is allowed (including network and comm posts), everyone in the city is going to be experiencing the worst luck ever. Basically, consider this day a Murphy's Law sort of day. Meaning anything that can go wrong quite likely will and odds are will do so in a very big way.

At midnight going into Saturday (EST), the bad luck streak will end and things will return to Colligo's idea of normal. And, of course, if you have any questions/comments/idea/etc feel free to respond here or the mod contact post. Thanks and keep being awesome!

Hello lovelies! This is just a quick note from us because there seems to be a touch of confusion out there as to what this particular plot we're currently having entails. To clarify:

• This plot is solely up to your discretion. You can opt in as many of your characters as you would like or you can opt to simply sit back and watch the chaos.

• Should you want to include your characters in the madness, you can pick any of our previous plots (minus the invasion ones) we've had in game before. You can even pick more than one, at a time, or one right after the other.

• All rules that applied to each plot will also apply to your character if you use that plot now. For example: If someone is de-aged to a small child, they will not know who anyone is they have met in game as an adult unless they have also met them in their own reality or know of them through some canon puncturing source (if allowed by the character being punctured, obviously). Please refer to the posts in [info]colligo to see the specific rules of each plot as they were introduced to the game.

• The overall Collector's Greatest Hits plot ends at the end of April. However you can choose to have your character go back to normal well before that, if you would like. The end of the plot, in this instance, merely means that all characters still affected by the 'cut off' date will default back to normal at that point.

Please have snow and mistletoe...and a Christmas invasion...

So it's the holidays and the city of Colligo is getting in the Christmas spirit.

Starting this evening there will be snow. Not a blizzard, just a nice light snow that will build up over the week and make things nice and pretty and Winter Wonderland-y. Enjoy it. Make snow angels. Build snowmen. Construct an igloo if that's what you really want. The lake in the park will be completely frozen, for those of you who enjoy ice skating. Basically there's just going to be some nice winter weather to put everyone in the right mood.

Or, if you don't want to go out in the snow, you can stay inside by the fire with some hot chocolate. Yes, all the apartments now have fireplaces in them. No, nobody knows where they came from, but it's safe to assume that the Collector has made some adjustments to the layout of the apartments. But really, he's just doing everyone a favor. How else will Santa get in to give everyone presents?

Ah mistletoe! Nothing says wintery affection like a poisonous plant hanging over your head. Am I right? Well, Colligo has mistletoe hanging all around the city in various locations, and people are welcome to put it up in their apartments if they choose. But the city's mistletoe is a little more aggressive than other varieties. Anyone who stands under the mistletoe will feel an overwhelming urge to kiss whoever is there with them, no matter who that person is. The feeling will fade once they've kissed, but we look forward to fun and embarrassing times for all.

On a slightly less fun note, Colligo will be experiencing a Christmas Invasion. Starting Christmas morning, Toclafane will be showing up in the city and attacking. Check out the link for more information on them. They're vicious little creatures, so don't take them lightly. There will be another post later this week with a more detailed explanation of the invasion. Until then, have fun with your Christmasy surprises.

Okay folks. In three hours time (at midnight EST), the AU plot will officially come to an end. Everyone will turn back to normal. Whether characters remember what happened to them or not is up to you. All we ask is that any characters from the future not remember anything too specific.

Also, don't forget to request items from home for the Present Exchange 2010!! This will be running until December 24, with a game-wide plot (details coming soon) to follow immediately after.

UPCOMING GAME PLOTS

Okay folks, in honour of the upcoming holidays, we're going to do something a little different in Colligo this year.

First up, starting the first week of December and carrying right on through until Christmas Eve, every character in Colligo is going to receive some sort of present. Not just any present, though. In fact, everyone is going to receive something from home! However, to make things interesting, we're going to ask that you reply to this post with at least three items that your character(s) might want from home. It can be anything (aside from a living person, although pets are welcome!), big or small. For those who have duplicates in the game, it can be two of the same item as well. In fact, there are very few guidelines to this one at all. Just think of at least three things your character(s) will want, and reply here with the following form:



It doesn't matter what order they're in; we're going to randomly pick the item. However this way you don't have to narrow your choice down to just one and we have more to work with as well.

Please note that we will be contacting players privately (either via email or AIM; possibly both) to inform them when their character(s) present has arrived, where they can find it, what it is, etc. This will start on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 and will run until December 24, 2010. We will obviously have to have more than one character affected daily, but may take days off in between depending on how the presents will affect the game as a whole (and how busy the mods are as this is quite a hectic time of year).

Also note that we will be kicking off a rather large plot on, or around, December 25th, so be on the lookout for more information! In the meantime, please reply to this post with the requested information regarding present choices. You have until 12AM EST, Wednesday, December 1st to reply.

This is simply a way for us to reward our players and their characters for all of the awesome activity as of late. Hello, everyone!

Oh no, another plot! Don't worry, this plot will probably be non-fatal, so you get a break from the angst and the drama and the death. Seriously, Didi is already tired, and she's been here for one plot.

As we all know, Halloween is approaching. Yay Halloween! And with Halloween comes candy. Yay candy! Hush...you guys try writing this stuff. It's not as easy as it looks. So characters will have been buying candy, having it around their apartments for trick or treaters, and probably eating some. They may buy some discounted on Monday and eat it then. It's candy, after all, and who doesn't like candy?

Well, if your character has been eating any candy, they're in for a surprise. Come midnight at the start Halloween (Saturday night into Sunday), anyone who has been eating candy will start to behave differently. They'll regress to how they acted as a teenager. Obvious, children and teens will not be affected by this, but they'll get to react to their teenage-minded friends and loved ones. This effect will continue for anyone who eats the candy after Halloween, and people probably won't guess the cause right away. So have some fun with this.

Hello everyone! This is just a reminder that the zombies are now officially gone. Over the next 24 hours, those who were killed will begin returning. Obviously played characters can be returned whenever you, the player, would like. However the locals will all be fully returned by midnight tomorrow night. They'll return to life as though nothing ever happened.

The zombie plot will be ending at midnight on Saturday, October 23rd. As per the deal Azazel has with God, anyone who was hurt or killed during the plot will be brought back to life. The characters coming back to life will find themselves in the library with no memory of what happened during the time they were dead. The locals killed will simply reappear within the city, acting as though nothing ever happened.

So if you're planning on killing anyone, now is the time to do so. And thank you all for your participation in this plot. It went over better than we could have anticipated!

So time for the last twist in the honesty plot.

From now until the plot ends on the 9th, there are no more filters on the network, or rather nobody will be using filters. That's right. Everything your characters say is open for everyone else to see.

They can still text, but we do not want this to be a substitute to avoid saying things publicly. Don't avoid the network comm. This is supposed to be fun and awkward.

Strikeouts are also not to be used for the duration of the plot.

Hi guys.

You're doing great with the honesty plot. So now, it's time to kick it up a notch.

That's right. It's time for your characters to unburden themselves. Whatever secrets they have or things they've been keeping to themselves, they have a strong desire to share them with someone. Whether this will end well or badly for them is hard to say, but just have fun with it. This will continue until the 30th of September.

And the genderswap has come to a close. Anyone who went to sleep the opposite gender will wake up tomorrow back to their normal selves, and anyone still awake will notice the change instantly. But they will also find something far more disconcerting as happened to them than altering genders...

They can't lie.

From today until the end of the month, Colligo will be undergoing an increase in honesty. In fact, it will be complete honesty. From now until the 25th, any questions which your characters are asked, they will have to answer as truthfully as they can. As of right now, they do not have to volunteer any information that isn't requested off them, but on the 25th, The Collector will be cranking up the intensity.

From the 25th until the end of September, your characters will feel the urge to unburden themselves. Whether it be to family, close friends, their SO, or just that random stranger across the hall, it's up to you, but they will want to talk to someone about the things in their life that they might otherwise keep silent on.

How much you participate in this event is fully up to your own discretion, but these urges will be affecting every character in [info]colligo. So everyone remember, the truth will set you free. Or possibly get you punched in the face. Either or. ;)

Event End & Next Event

Power has now been restored to the city. Everyone bask in the glow of the fluorescent lights, charge your PDAs, and replace the food that went bad. There is still no explanation for the sudden prolonged loss of power, but locals feel now that it's back, there is no need to burden themselves with finding out. And the Collector approves. Especially since the out of town residents are soon going to find themselves with something much more disconcerting to deal with.




Starting tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept 7th), Colligo will be experiencing a genderswap phenomenon. Your character may go to bed tonight a man and wake up tomorrow a woman. Not everyone may change right away. So characters that don't wake up the opposite gender tomorrow, don't think you're safe because it may be your turn later on down the line. Not everyone will necessarily be effected. Feel free to have your character stress over the possibility only to have nothing happen to them. It's completely up to you who, when, and whether you swap them over at all.

There is one rather large exception, however:

The Collector is considerate enough that he won't be messing with anyone expecting, so pregnant gals, your gender and baby will remain both safely intact.

If anyone is still having trouble finding an opposite gender PB for their character, feel free to reply her or in the mod drop box to ask for suggestions.

From this point until the blackout is over, the PDAs have lost power, and the network will no longer be functioning until the power is back on. Feel free to use [info]colligo_comms for handwritten notes, letters, and various non-electronic produced items. The Collector should feel inclined to restore the power sometime in the next few days.




Once this mini-event is over, we will be having a longer event and it will be a genderswap. Start considering what PBs you want to use for the characters who are affected now, so you're not stuck at the last minute. And if you need any PB help, plese don't hesitate to come to the mods.

Mini Event and Upcoming Event

Hey guys! A couple notes from your mods.

First, Colligo is going to be experiencing a blackout for a little bit. Starting tonight at 7:00 PM EST, the power is going to go out in the city. This is going to last for a couple days, but no more than three or four. Some notes.

•Water will still run fine. The apartments are hooked up to city water, which runs in blackouts.
•The Library will still have power. It always has power.
•Similarly, buildings with back-up generators, such as the clinic and other places, will still function normally.
•PDAs will work at the start, but they do have to charge, so they will die. They'll probably make it through the evening and part of tomorrow, but all of them should be dead by 24 hours in. The net community shouldn't be used after that. The communications community will still be functional, as there are means of communication that don't involve electricity, but try to keep the smoke signals to a minimum. Take this as an opportunity to thread and have fun with it.
•Stock up on your candles and your coolers full of ice/practice your freezing charms/come bug Sylar to keep your stuff cold!





Once this mini-event is over, we will be having a longer event and it will be a genderswap. Start considering what PBs you want to use for the characters who are affected now, so you're not stuck at the last minute. And if you need any PB help, plese don't hesitate to come to the mods.

New Comm and Upcoming Plot

Hello, everyone!

Two things.

First, we've made a new comm that you all need to join. [info]colligo_comms will be for any non-network based communication. Phone calls, text messages, emails...Twitter (obviously the only people on Colligo's twitter are captives and natives, but the natives' Twitters are boring and mostly about their cats), notes, gifts, etc. We just figured it would be a good addition to the game and would encompass things not covered by the network or thread comms.

The community will be open membership until Monday so that everyone can join, at which point it will be moderated like the other comms.

And...the new plot...


The Collector stared down and out, over the city of Colligo. Everyone was scurrying about in their daily routine. Everyone...at least, almost everyone, was settling in nicely. It wasn't a bad set-up he'd given them and he knew it. The self-satisfied smirk that played upon his lips was proof of that. He ran his fingers along the edge of the railing he was leaning against. His Collection was a varied one, now. Varied enough that he could pick and choose what he focused on. He found he enjoyed listening to the celestial ones, quite a bit. One of them – Gabriel, it was – had said something that had sparked the Collector's interest very recently. He'd been playing out the possibilities in his mind and finally had things worked out.

A soap opera.

The words sounded strange. Felt strange upon his tongue. It was not a term he was familiar with, really. His research however had yielded interesting results. The thought of his collection acting in such a manner, having to unwittingly participate in events such as the ones that had taken place on shows that were deemed 'soap operas', made his smirk turn a bit more smile-like. It would be entertaining, if nothing else. He saw no reason not to do it.

Releasing the railing, he waved in the general direction of the city. His voice was soft-spoken and unassuming. He wetted his lips a bit. "You've all had enough time to rest. I've let things get stale and intend to fix that," he commented, almost in passing, before turning and moving back within his ship. If he was going to make his words into a reality, he had work to do.

As per this thread and this one, Lucifer is now gone and all characters who were killed have been brought back to life. God restored those who were fallen to the way they were beforehand and your character either returned to life in the same location where they died or in their apartment - whichever you'd prefer.

If you would like to post something in [info]colligo_threads or [info]colligo_network that takes place after Lucifer's death but before the dead are alive again, please simply mark your posts with an OOC note stating that's when it takes place (as Lucifer was killed at night and God returned the next morning). Otherwise, this portion of the plot is officially over.

However, other baddies do remain within the city and characters can still be killed by these baddies. The Collector will return them to life once all of the baddies have been dealt with (meaning: when we call this entire plot officially over) so don't hesitate to jump in if you feel the urge!

As for the city itself, the majority of the dark, dangerous feel has lifted and the streets are no longer empty. Things are mostly back to normal, just with a few nasties still out there to keep things interesting. The threat of needing to stay indoors lest you die, however, is now past.

If you have any comments/questions, don't hesitate to ask. Otherwise, enjoy the rest of this event and we'll post again as soon as we wrap it up!

Hey everyone! As everyone probably realizes, we have a new upcoming plot in the works for the game. Most of the general guidelines and information is available here, for anyone who missed it the first time around. As for this post, we're going to try something a little different than we've done in previous events.

Consider this, for all intents and purposes, the plotting post for the Lucifer!Plot. Essentially it's an one-stop thread available right on the main page of the main community ([info]colligo) where you, the players, can start plotting in general amongst yourselves. As mentioned before, if you want to plot privately amongst yourselves that of course is allowed and encouraged, but this way no one gets accidentally left out if they want a more major role.

All we ask is that you keep a few things in mind.
• Not everyone is going to get a crack at Lucifer. Not only will he not consider most present in-game worth his time, but most in-game would die within about .2 seconds of encountering him. This is why we have other baddies who are going to be joining him (and, of course, if you'd like your character turned bad for this plot or would like to bring in a temporary character who is bad to work for with Lucifer, now is the time to speak up and/or get in those temporary character apps.

• Characters can and will die. We won't kill off anyone's character without their permission, but if you want one of yours killed off please speak up so those playing the villains can work out a good way for this to happen. (And don't worry - everyone who dies fighting the good fight is going to be brought back once the plot is over.)

• A way to defeat Lucifer has already been worked out with the players of those characters who have the ability to actually defeat him. However, once again, there are going to be other bad guys that your character can possibly help defeat.
Now clearly this is not all of the information but just a couple of reminders that pertain primarily to plotting.

With that being said, we are going to create several 'sub-threads' within this post that cover a variety of topics. Please respond to those sub-threads with your name in the subject line and list whatever characters of yours you would like to involve in the topic covered along with any additional, pertinent information. (For example: If you want to kill off Character A, reply to the sub-thread titled 'Character Deaths' with Character A's name and any specifics as to how they can/can't die, etc.)

Hopefully this way we'll keep things a bit more organized and make sure no one is accidentally passed over.

Now, for the baddies to date. So far, we have:

• Gabriel "Sylar" Gray
• Willow Rosenberg
Keep in mind that none of these characters have become bad yet (with the exception of Lucifer, of course) but will become that way at various stages throughout this plot.

[upcoming event] :: information

As per this post, we mentioned an upcoming game-wide plot. Although it will be another week or so before it starts, we would like to take a few moments to go over a bit of information ahead of time. This way, you the players can begin plotting for things to come and we, the mods, can answer any questions that might arise before the insanity fun begins.
• The character of Lucifer, from the television show Supernatural, is going to be arriving in the city. He is going to be there on a temporary basis and solely for the purposes of this plot only.

• As per our requirements for temporary characters, found here, as well as due to the specifics of his fandom, there is a definitive way in which he is going to eventually be defeated. Those who are involved in his defeat (character-wise) have already been chosen primarily due to both their relationship with him as well as their various abilities to assist in his defeat. This does not mean you cannot have your character attempt to stop him. By all means, if it is in-character for them to do so, have them do so. Simply keep in mind that he is very powerful and there is a strong likelihood that your character will either need the assistance of another character to get away from him or they will be killed. (More on that last bit in a moment.)

• Should you prefer not to have your character attempt to stop him directly, there are also going to be other characters - some temporary and some simply temporarily evil - who will be working with for him who will also be available to fight. If you have a character already in-game who could potentially be swayed to his side, by all means feel free to suggest them. If you have a character you feel you could play in a temporary capacity who would side with him, by all means feel free to bring them in.

• If you want to bring in a character in a temporary capacity, they must be: evil (or at the very least very, very morally gray) and temporary. For the duration of this plot, no characters that pose a threat to him will be accepted. This is mainly due to there already being quite a fair number of those sort in-game and our attempt to keep things a bit more balanced. Once the plot begins, no characters whatsoever will be accepted unless you have prior approval from a mod.

• In this plot, characters can die. In fact, many are going to die. If you would like to have one of your characters killed, do not worry. When the plot is complete, all characters will be brought back to life via in-character means. However, do keep in mind that, from the time your character is killed until the plot is complete, you cannot play them unless you find a feasible, in-character way to bring them back sooner and you must clear it with the mods first.

• For those players who do not have characters with 'special abilities', please also feel free to come up with reasons/ways that the villains would take interest in them. Not only superhero type characters are going to grab their attention and, of course, innocents are often harmed and sometimes killed in battle type scenarios as well. There are even times that those sorts can inadvertently be a hero. The point is, anything is possible, all you need do is consider your options and discuss it with your fellow players. We want everyone to enjoy themselves and do not wish to single anyone out.
This is not, by any means, all of the points of this plot. We will be covering more as we grow closer to the start. This is simply a list of basic guidelines so, again, you can ask any questions you may have as well as begin plotting both with us, the mods, as well as amongst yourselves.

Also, to make things easier, we are going to be making a post in [info]colligo that is going to be solely for the purposes of plotting for this upcoming event. This doesn't mean you can't discuss it privately with other players, but is more for any general ideas or suggestions as well as to make those who are not easily accessible via AIM to be involved as well.

[EVENT]: "I'M A LIAISON. I LIAISE."

The newest arrival in Colligo descends the steps graciously with soft, yet firm, clicks of heels against stone until she reaches the pavement. She doesn't look scared or angry or even confused about being here, doesn't start talking to herself or screaming at the heavens as most do. In fact, she looks rather calm and sure, almost as if she's perfectly aware of where she is and why.

Of course, that could be because she does know, because The Collector told her. She won't be sharing that information with anyone, though, for her orders were clear and she knows how to listen. Especially after what happened last time, she knows how to listen. Eve won't be making the same mistakes twice. In the aftermath of what happened to Los Angeles, she was left alone and lost, unsure of what to do or who's side to take-- but The Collector had swept her up and given her a new purpose, one she intended on making the most of. She would be his eyes and ears and when the time came, be his voice. It was what she was designed for, after all.

The time to converse with his collection was steadily drawing near and why should he create someone to do his bidding for him when there was someone already suited to the task?

"Middle management," Eve said with a sigh that was just that-- a sigh. No hidden meaning, so subtle messages, just...a breath. "Show time."

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
No-one knows of Eve's true purpose in the city. ICly, she's just another run of the mill arrival. Your characters may, however, notice her laissez-faire attitude towards the situation and so on, but having knowledge of why she's here and what she's doing is a strict no-go. If there are any questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask.
This is a precursor for a much larger event that will be taking place starting on April 26th, which is the one year anniversary of Colligo's opening.

As of this morning, the lust plot has officially drawn to a close. The substance tainting the water is no longer in the water supply and any citizens who were still under the effects of the lust potion will wake up and find themselves back to normal.

[EVENT]: THERE MUST BE SOMETHING IN THE WATER.

If there was one thing that fascinated The Collector about his collection other than the individuals themselves, it was their relations amongst one another. He was utterly fascinated by the bonds that had been formed by those who, if not for mutually being in his city, would have otherwise never met. However, as content as he is to watch them play out their little dramas and romances without his interference, even he has to wonder: what if. A few drops of something to spark their interest in what they would otherwise not go for, otherwise not even notice, into the water supply and that what if is put into motion. Now, all he has to do is sit back and watch as they go wild. Oh, the during is going to be interesting, but it's the aftermath that he's truly interested in. One has to wonder...

Can those forged bonds withstand what his lust potion is bound to make happen?

EVENT: NO TIME LIKE THE PAST | END.

Upon waking the morning of February 25th, the unwilling residents of the City of Colligo will find themselves back in their beds within the apartments they were placed in when they first arrived. The city of the 18th Century is now gone, having been restored to it's former nature and the only signs that such a change ever took place is the garments the residents will find they are still wearing. If the locals are asked about what's transpired over the past month, they will respond with business as usual as if the city carried on without The Collector's collection present. In fact, it's as if they were still there as well. Bosses will claim that you were at work every day this past month and will be baffled as to why you're asking about being gone when you weren't, from their perspectives, missing.

Additionally, a light snowfall with fill the skies and coat the streets and rooftops for that day, but will be gone come the morning of the 26th with little still sticking to the ground. Everything seems to be back to how it was and without any disruption.

The question is, for how long?


The past event is now over. As stated above, the city is now completely back to normal. Anything posted after this post, unless clearly labeled as backdated will be considered to take place after the plot's end. If you have any questions or concerns, please comment here or contact one of the mods.

EVENT: NO TIME LIKE THE PAST.

The twenty-sixth of January is appears to be a morning like any other morning in Colligo-- the sun is rising in the sky, filling the windows of the captured peoples' rooms with bright, warm light as the residents stir and pull out of their slumbers. As they awaken, however, they come to realize that this morning is, in fact, not like any other morning at all. The room they are in is not that of a 21st Century apartment, but a house straight out of the 18th Century. The little homes are spread out across the city of Colligo and the only sign of the grand, modern city that once stood in it's place is the infamous library, where new arrivals are sure to arrive.

The mall is gone, replaced by a bustling farmers' market with fields of crops and livestock where the park once was. Shops can be found around the library, ranging from shoemakers to seamstresses, carpenters to blacksmiths and other such businesses of the era. A clinic is all but nonexistent and any medical assistance you need will have to be acquired via a house call. Clothing, appropriate for the times, can be found in trunks at the foot of the residents' beds and they will find the garments fit surprisingly well. Any new clothing will have to be acquired from one of the shops-- and money, they'll find, is now converted into coin form and found in purses at the bottom of the trunks instead of stored within the banks. Careful with that now, someone may want to come and grab it.

Amazingly, the tablets are still working. Use them wisely, for they are your only "link" to the modern world. How long will this venture into the past last? A few days? Weeks? Months? Who knows. Only time will tell.

We have a new idea we'd like to try out with you lovely folks. Essentially, it's a way for players to work together to bring mini-plots to the game to keep interest and activity up. Since everyone here works so fabulously together, we're hoping this idea will work.

WALKING IN A WINTER WONDERLAND (NOVEMBER PLOT).

Attention citizens of Colligo! The Collector has decided to take the fact that Earth is a seasonal planet into consideration for this time of year. Characters waking up this morning (November 12th) will note light snowfall coming down for the heavens. The snowfall will remain constant and light throughout the week. Will it stop or become heavier? You'll have to wait and see! We'd advise, however, being mindful of the low temperature and the snow that will surely start sticking to the ground.

If players have any suggestions for Winter-themed events of any kind, please comment with them here! We have a few in mind, but we'd love to do more things you guys want to see happen here in Colligo. :)

EVENT: COLLIGOWEEN, PT 1.

It was a ridiculous holiday, one The Collector didn't see much point in. The notion of grown individuals dressing in costumes like children and indulging in sweets that could damage teeth and weights seemed stupid and pointless at best, but it was something the people in his city were anxious for and couldn't stop talking about. Well, he'd have to do something about this, wouldn't he? He'd indulge them, but in his own way. Let them have their candy and cakes and costumes, but should they choose the latter, there were going to be consequences in the form of a twist none of them would see coming...save those who were already familiar with the one The Collector had brought forth to carry out his bidding and watching them scramble about trying to save the day would be part of the fun.

"Are you ready?"

To his right, a figure of a man who could easily be dismissed as any ordinary human being stepped forward, the corners of his lips curling up into a wicked smile. "Of course."

"Excellent."

ALL CHARACTERS WILL FIND THE FOLLOWING INVITATION PINNED TO THEIR DOORS. )

MOD NOTE: As stated on this post, the Halloween Costume Ball is optional. Your characters do not need to participate in the party itself to react to the chaos that will follow. !! POLL: UPCOMING HALLOWEEN EVENT.

Hello wonderful members, Tamara/Rumi!mod here in Kirk's journal once again using his paid account to the advantage of the modly agenda to post a poll. This one involves your preferred preference for the duration of an in-the-works Halloween Event. For this plot, we've decided that the folks in the city are all going to be invited to a large, lavish costume party!

However, as this is Colligo, things aren't going to quite go according to plan. In fact, mid-way through the party, everyone present is going to become their costume. Whatever they are wearing, they will turn into that, for... well, however long the poll below decides. That's right. Rather than decide for the game as a whole, we're asking that each of you please vote for how long you'd like to see this plot take place. Note that we're putting it up the day before Halloween (Friday night), and that the minimum vote is five days to give those who aren't online on weekends a chance to participate as well.

EVENT #05 - BEGIN

How irritating, The Collector thought to himself as he lounged back in his chair, the monitors that showed him what was happening in his city flashing from building to building and person to person, from this angle and that, showing him nothing of great interest.

This was never his intention, to let his collection get so comfortable within his city and yet, some of them were. They were mingling and making friends, developing romantic relationships and other such bonds that were making their interim here in his city more of an interstellar vacation and not the experiment he'd been conducting. It was an interesting set of details to add to the many notes he'd taken on their interactions thus far, but he did not desire for them to be happy. If he wanted that, he would have left them where they were and observed them in their natural habitats. No, he wanted to collect them, to hoard them and keep them in his city, acting the way he wanted them to act.

And this was not the way he wanted things. Not at all.

"Time to do something about that, wouldn't you say..." He turned to face a figure standing at his right. "...Barbas?"

"Like I said, I'll create your chaos for you... Just so long as I get to do what I wish with the Charmed Ones," Barbas drawled, fingers steepling as his gaze flashed out over the monitor. Piper, Paige, and Prue, all three caged in and in the perfect position for the ultimate revenge.

"Do not let them occupy your attentions. I expect you to make all of them suffer."

"Oh, I will. They will. They won't even know what hit them."




Okay! We're going to try to keep this as short and sweet as possible, but as this is going to be covering the ins and outs of the next baddie to come to Colligo, everyone please read it all the way through, okay?

MINI-EVENT #01 - FIRE

A fire has been started in Housing Building B by an NPC doing the Collector's bidding. The building is going to burn to the ground and all characters within that building will be relocated to Housing Building D, located across the city.

Any and all threads that cover the fire itself are to take place here. All rules pertaining to this mini-event can also be found in the same post.
