Hey guys!
With that little musical interlude over and done with, the Collector has decided to toss out a situation that has the potential for both angst and hilarity. Introducing the Canon Ageswap Plot! Beginning at midnight tonight (EST), Asaph will be influencing certain individuals in the city to swap places with either an younger or older version of themselves that exists within their canon.
Of course, this is entirely voluntary. Not everyone has to be swapped nor will everyone necessarily be able to.
Here are a few guidelines to keep in mind for the plot.
• People will be swapping ages with other versions of themselves represented within their canon and only their canon. This does not include stories written by fans, ideas that you, personally, would like to see played out, or anything along those lines.
• Alternate forms can be pulled from flashbacks, glimpses of the future, alternative realities if they are covered on the show/movie/book/whatever the character is from (think future!Dean Winchester, for example), or any other situations within the character’s canon that shows them in a different state than they exist within the city. For example, Damon may become 1864!Damon or 1912!Damon while Barbara Gordon could revert to her Batgirl days.
• People can age up or down depending upon what options are available to them. Just keep in mind, once again, that they must be shown at that age in their canon for this to be an option.
• People are allowed to change more than once if there are multiple options available to them. Anyone can also turn back into their normal selves at any point that you would like, as well.
• For characters whose canon spans several decades or several different mediums (Doctor Who, Marvel, DC, etc), previous or later versions of your character are open if they are shown in that capacity. However, they must be from the same general universe. For example, any version of Raven Darkholme that’s shown in the X-Men movie!verse is allowed. Raven from the cartoon and/or comics is not because it is clearly a completely different reality that is not shown in the movie!verse in any capacity.
• If you have a character who was mentioned in an alternate reality within their canon but not specifically shown - such as Jo Harvelle, in the reality where her mother is married to Bobby Singer - that is allowed. There simply needs to be enough information available about them in that particular alternate timeline to play them properly. (In this instance, Jo would still be PB’d by Alona Tal and a hunter. She could not suddenly become nine and calling Bobby “dad”, as that was never shown.)
• As with any of our plots, if you choose to kill off one of your characters, unless you devise a way for them to come back sooner through some IC means, they will stay dead until the plot ends. We’re aiming to run this plot until we kick off the anniversary plot, so keep that in mind when deciding whether or not you can go without your muse for a week or possibly longer.
Also, please note that characters who are changed for this plot will have no knowledge of their time in Colligo. They will wake up wherever they normally sleep, already changed into another version of themselves, and will not know where they are or any of that. It's very similar to bringing in a character, except they won't arrive in the library.
And that's it! If you have any questions/comments/ideas whatsoever, please respond to this post or contact us and, remember, have fun with this!
