Dear Balthier-

I am told you were the one responsible for creating what Tadgh says is a
fáinne bráithreachas, or, for those of us who don't speak the gaellic, a Brotherhood ring.

Your work is impeccable and I do realise how special it is, especially for all the work that you must have done to properly cast it. I wanted you to know how much I love it, first hand, instead of just a story from Tadgh, and even though I AM coming over to see Courfeyrac later this week, thought I should tell you before that.

You've really helped me to feel a part of this crazy, unmentionable club.

Dear Balthier, Captain Balthier, perhaps? ,

In any case, I wanted to thank you for helping a few weeks ago, when I was wondering about my situation, ah, orientation wise and all of that business. Some of the reading lists were VERY helpful, and...I think I've found what I am. It's nice to be able to have a way to categorize myself, oddly enough.

It's easier, knowing some things and having the words. I'm not quite ready to tell someone I ought to tell, but I can practice now, and all of THAT.

...Bahorel mentions Courfeyrac's here also. I think I'd like to meet him, properly, I mean, at his age, here. When we were this age at home, we were far from meeting of course, but it may be nice now, having someone from home, around.

Anyway, thank you again for showing me where to find the words AND for helping out my future brother in arms.

My Dear Mme. de Chagny,

I wish to thank you again for your aid, and for getting me into contact with my friends again, once I was stable. I very much appreciate everything that you have done for me, and now that I am home, and recovering, I wished to give you something of a gift to express my appreciation.

However, because I have not been deemed well enough to leave the house, and, according to Combeferre my bed, though he occasionally relents into allowing me to be carried to the sofa, I've done the next best thing to shopping myself, and sent Courfeyrac to choose something from me to you.

Thank you again for all of your thoughtfulness and attention, during what must have been a very rough afternoon. I hope that you are doing well.
