07:03 pm [jarodrussell] [Link]	Birds of Prey #111 I wrote a script this evening that would let anyone, not just admins, backup Scans Daily. After asking myself, "What would Oracle do?" I've decided not to share it with anyone. After all, I wouldn't want to share the ability to backup the SD community until everyone has the ability to back up the SD community. She also met a little girl named Sin who was going to be trained as the next Shiva. Dinah instead brought her back to the US as her daughter. 01:57 pm [uadlika] [Link]	No DOOM, only SIN (part 1) Sorta continuing my previous posts of cute kids from the DCU. I like Sin and thought there was a lot of potential in her and Dinah's relationship. I definitely hate what happened to her and the apparent reasons why. I thought I would go through Sin's brief appearance (12 issues in all) and subsequent disappearance. Warning: this post contains an amazing amount of Dinah being awesome and badass. From issues #92-#95 of Birds of Prey (collected in TPB Vol 5: Perfect Pitch) There are a lot of scans here, but I don't go over the 7 page rule for any issue. 08:26 pm [kingrockwell] [Link]	To Catch A Thief So yesterday I finally sucked it up and bought Birds Of Prey: Sensei & Student despite it's gratuitous, egregious, and generally calamitous cover. Even for Greg Land, this is a bad cover. Those who haven't seen on the trade or the first time it was printed with #67, I'm not posting it, I'm not linking it, I'm not subjecting you to it. If you want to see it, it'll have to be on your own time by your own decision. I'm just here to talk about it. I'd originally decided to tear it off and burn it, but I don't keep matches anymore since I quit smoking a few weeks ago. 04:07 pm [nevermore999] [Link]	Super Steph Series pt 6-The Mini Canary! Now to do an overview of Stephanie's time with the BoP ( I was going to couple it with Cass, but decided to post that seperately...it got too long.) Steph as a member of the BoP was rife with potential ( and bluefall has an awesome fic centering around the ideal in progress). But it was sadly cut short as soon as Dixon left the book. Gail sort of used Charlie as a Steph substitute (heck, she went out of the way to have Babs compare Charlie to Steph) so we see a little of how nifty it could have been. I mean, Steph and Dinah share a similar attitude, they're both postive, snarky independent women to think on their feet. And they are both made of awesome, of course. Meanwhile, Babs sees a lot of her younger Steph (self starter, doesn't care what Batman thinks, ridiculously determined, insinuating herself into what's mainly a "boys club", fun loving, has the hots for a Robin) and it clearly makes her VERY uncomfortable, which is most effectively demonstrated in Joker's Last Laugh when Babs basically flips out at Steph and is like "You take things more seriously, or you will die". (Babs is psychic) And if Steph had more interaction with Huntress- well, two black sheep with criminal families and disdain towards the "no kill" rule- the paralells are gold, and that Cataclysm thing only brushed the surface of that potential. I'm fairly sure I own the comic and just hadn't read it in a long while, and I've been trying to find it now, but I don't know where to look. I remember it being Oracle with short hair and I think the rectangle-shaped glasses. Ring any bells? ( Under the cut is a picture we really need here.
