How Many Villains Have Done This Much Damage to the Justice League?|
Not long ago, bluejaybirdie suggested a Huntress is Awesome Week, and I, along with chengar and scottyquick , agreed that was a good idea. Since then, though, there has been little follow-up. As such, I have decided to act unilaterally in kicking off Huntress is Awesome Week.
So I decided to start with a few scans of Huntress shooting and critically wounding a few Justice Leaguers.

Elseworlds: Kingdom Come - Here comes the cavalry|
As the summer begins to simmer for most of us, it's time to brush up on some summer reading. I spent an enjoyable weekend at the beach checking out to the hotties, grabbing some surf, and enjoying a good book on the sand. I revisit something that made my jaw drop 13 summers ago. Kingdom Come.
If anyone else wants to post or leave some discussion or debate about the story, I will leave it to you.
But I will post three of my favorite pages from issue #4: Never Ending Battle.
Before we proceed further, a joke to illustrate a point:
"A farmer went out one day and bought a brand new stud rooster for his chicken coop. The new rooster struts over to the old rooster and says,
“OK old fart, time for you to retire.”
The old rooster replies, “Come on, surely you cannot handle ALL of these chickens. Look what it has done to me.
Can’t you just let me have the two old hens over in the corner?”
The young rooster says, “Beat it: You are washed up and I am taking over.”
The old rooster says, “I tell you what, young stud. I will race you around the farmhouse. Whoever wins gets the exclusive domain over the entire chicken coop.”
The young rooster laughs. “You know you don’t stand a chance, old man. So, just to be fair, I will give you a head start.”
The old rooster takes off running. About 15 seconds later the young rooster takes off running after him. They round the front porch of the farmhouse and the young rooster has closed the gap. He is only about 5 feet behind the old rooster and gaining fast.
The farmer, meanwhile, is sitting in his usual spot on the front porch when he sees the roosters running by. The Old Rooster is squawking and running as hard as he can. The Farmer grabs his shotgun and – BOOM – he blows the young rooster to bits. The farmer sadly shakes his head and says,
“Dammit…..third gay rooster I bought this month.”
Moral of this story? ….
Don’t mess with the OLD FARTS – age, skill, wisdom, and a little treachery will always overcome youth and arrogance!

Golden Age Wonder Woman |
These are from Sensation #13. Just two images.
Also: a couple of weeks ago, someone commented saying that in Europe, only serious comic book nerds have ever even heard of Wonder Woman. This led to a spirited debate, and someone (was it you, bluefall?) posted a few photos of non-nerd Europeans wearing costumes obviously based on the Amazing Amazon's.
Well, over the weekend, I was watching the British TV show Hustle. A British show, made by and for Brits. It's never even been aired over here, but you can rent it via Netflix, and I highly recommend it. Anyway, during one of the second season episodes, there's a brief scene where one character dresses in a costume that's just different enough from Wonder Woman to avoid copyright infringement. But it's obviously her. She's even deflecting bullets with her bracelets.

Does this say what Joe Q is doing to Spiderman?|
I watched the south park episode where the kids watched the Indiana Jones Crystal Skull movie and were horriflied by the movie that they see as as George and Steven as literally raping the character and they show flashbacks of it in several occassion and go to the police and realized that alot of people felt for the same way except for Butters who tought it was a alright movie. You see them also raping a storm trooper as the cops come and arrest them. I guess that way the kids felt about what they were doing to Indie is the same way I felt about what Marvel is doing to Spidey. Warning, the clips is very disturbing and consider nswf. Don't worry, I put a scan for legal purposes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvXm1D90Y8U

There are some people who think Alan Moore hates superheroes and couldn't write an unironically positive take on heroism, one not mired in grey and cynicism, if his life depended on it.

New Magic Trixie? When did that happen?!|
AAAAH! There is a new Magic Trixie book out! Why did no one tell me of this sooner? You have failed me, Internet! FAIL!
I will make an emergency run in to my comic shop tomorrow. In the meantime, here is a scene from the last book, Magic Trixie Sleeps Over, so you understand how deeply important this is. (They had better have a copy left, or else... They'd just better, is all!)
