What Superman means to the world (DCAU)
From Superman Adventures 12.

What does Superman mean to the world?

This will be a wall of text but it is all really important.

No Man's Land Vol.4 - Bruce reveals himself to Gordon
From No Man's Land Volume 4, chapter title 'Falling Back'.

Written by Greg Rucka. Art by Rick Burchett, James Hodgkins and Klaus Janson.

This scene was anonymously requested on another post and as I'd previously uploaded these scans to a different comm I thought I'd share them here too. Am I right in thinking that I can't link to the post with the whole scene elsewhere because it's against the rules?

Anyway, I absolutely adore Batman and Gordon so my love for this particular scene knows no bounds.

Some Jim Gordon Goodness from Officer Down
This post is filling [info]kingrockwell's request for Jim Gordon interacting with people who aren't Batman and Robin, but I really love this book, so I might babble a little. Or, you know, a lot.

Positive Comics Week: A tale of Batman
Greetings, [info]scans_daily!

It's been about eight months since I discovered s_d back on LJ, and since I'm going to be busy soon I thought I'd make my first contribution now. It also fits nicely with Positive Comics Week (which is still on, yes? Till the 20th, at least?).

This is from Batman: Gotham Adventures #22. It's seven pages from a 22-page book.

(It's bigger and clearer in context, honestly)

How Many Villains Have Done This Much Damage to the Justice League?
Not long ago, [info]bluejaybirdie suggested a Huntress is Awesome Week, and I, along with [info]chengar  and [info]scottyquick  , agreed that was a good idea. Since then, though, there has been little follow-up. As such, I have decided to act unilaterally in kicking off Huntress is Awesome Week.

So I decided to start with a few scans of Huntress shooting and critically wounding a few Justice Leaguers.

Storming Paradise
Greetings True Believers! Memorial Day had me thinking about one of my favorite series right now. Wildstorm's "Storming Paradise." It's a historical "What-If?" drama. The premise is that the atomic bomb test was a disaster and the Allies had to go through with the invasion of Japan in order to end WWII. It's great because of the level of the what if. The decision to use the atom bomb is still debated today. Was it necessary? Was it justified? What about the other options? (Personally I think it was the best card in a bad hand and the other options were far worse.)

This series explores one of those options. The invasion of Japan and how it might have played out. It got me thinking, would the atomic bombing of Japan have played out the same way in the Marvel or DC universe?

My question to my fellow S_Der's is this: How would the presence of super-powered beings, magic, aliens, etc. affected this moment in history? Would it have been the same? Would things have been different? Can this question be answered?

DCAU - Why were you always so good to us?
Batman Adventures #12 remains one of my all time favourite comics... well, EVER! It moves Nightwing along in the DCAU to the point where he's in Bludhaven... but this isn't the Dixon-angst ridden Nightwing we got in the comics... this is so much more in keeping with Dick Grayson's personality it's untrue. (It's also VASTLY more fun). Ty Templeton writes and Rick Burchett draws
