ROAR OF AGES, by Junji Ito
The third story from the VOICES IN THE DARK anthology. Click the tag for more.
Two friends in the woods uncover the truth behind a mysterious flood.
Another safe for work story from Ito. Is the man losing his touch?!
Given that he turns that pretty dull premise into an interesting tale by the end, I would say no. Read on to see how he does it, and for some pretty gnarly depictions of floods.

THE GHOSTS OF GOLDEN TIME, by Junji Ito
The second story from the VOICES IN THE DARK anthology. Click the tag for more.
This story will answer your suspicions about all terrible comedians who are also terribly successful.
Actually I'm surprised the Joker has never tried this before.

Halloween week - THE DARK DRINKS BLOOD, by Junji Ito
This is the first story from the VOICES IN THE DARK anthology, which I've begun translating.
I've had a gloomy, depressing week, so it probably wasn't a good idea to bring you another story by Junji Ito. He's the guy behind UZUMAKI and GYO, so things are almost guaranteed to go disastrously wrong.
To remedy this, I've tried to post only the pages that contain an uplifting story of teenage love. Unfortunately this has meant excising almost every page of the story.

Trese vol. 1 and 2 Trese is a local Philippine comic series that's made a big splash over the past year or so. Supernatural investigator Alexandra Trese and her bodyguards/henchmen the Kambal (literally "the Twins") keep the streets of Manila safe from rogue creatures from local mythology.
To celebrate the release of Trese vol. 3 at Komikon on Oct. 18, I'd like to share some scans from vols. 1 and 2:

Darker Than Black For those Babs fans among us who picked up Batman annual #27 and/or Detective Comics annual #11, we got a pleasant little surprise in this backup story by Amanda McMurray and Kelley Jones.
Kelley Jones is a name well-known to Bat-fans. Aside from his run with Doug Moench from '95 to '98 (which has had various revivals these days), I've always known him best for his covers during the Knightfall era. My older brother had a number of the issues, and I'd never read any of the interiors, but the covers alone were enough to impress on me as a kid. Jones' expressionistic and moody style did a lot to shape the way I looked at Gotham for a long time.
Amanda McMurray's a relative newcomer to the industry. I can only find a few stories here and there credited to her. Some of you may recall her Huntress story from last year's DCU Holiday Special with Rafael Albuquerque, and she apparently did the Superman/Doctor Light segment in the recent JLA 80-Page Giant (anything good in that bit?). Either way, though I certainly liked the Huntress story on the whole better than this one, there are part of this I like, and for that, I wish McMurray luck on whatever the future may hold.

OH GOD WHY You know, I basically live on the internet. There isn't a whole lot of stuff in modern media that can squick me these days. And then I read FREDDY VS. JASON VS. ASH: NIGHTMARE WARRIORS #3.
( And there was squick. )

Question concerning the "Horror week" tags
I looked through the tags, and I noticed (at least) three different variants of the "Horror week" tag, either classifying it as "theme", an "event" or a "series". Which one is the proper one?

new 28 Days Later comic
28 Days Later comic Initial launch story will be firmly based in 28 DAYS LATER continuity with the first arc focusing on Selena. Bridging the gap between 28 DAYS LATER and 28 WEEKS LATER, a few key questions will be answered along the way: what happened to Selena after 28 DAYS LATER? How did Selena happen upon the machete she wields in 28 DAYS LATER?
The new Fox Atomic Comics and BOOM! Studios collaboration will see titles serialized as individual single issue comic books before being collected into trade paperback graphic novels available in the direct and mass bookstore markets. 28 DAYS LATER #1 is the first in the series for this new collaboration.
Aw, hells yeah. There's another cover in the link.
