War Is Coming Communications.

So we've been talking about these teams and welcoming committees for awhile now, and I figured since we got a new arrival today now would be a good time to get the ball rolling on the welcoming committee front.

I figure we assemble a group of maybe a dozen or so people, who can either be on teams or not, who would look for new arrival posts where no one has commented with the important info/keep an eye out for new arrivals when they're out in town and:
-Link them to, or tell them the information from, this post: http://asylums.insanejournal.com/wariscomingcom/918211.html
-Offer to meet them and take them to the complex or wherever else they want to go
-Give them an amulet and/or tell them where they can get a tattoo
-Be available to field questions about where things are in Lawrence
-Try to know information on open jobs and getting a fake ID in case anyone has questions

Now, there's no guarantee that everyone who shows up here is going to be friendly or that, worst case scenario, someone on the other side won't use this against us. So, I'm going to say that if you're underage or a noncombatant you should keep your contribution limited to the network and let someone else go out to collect any of the new arrivals that you don't know personally. I think it would be reasonable to make exceptions on the underage rule as long as you have combat experience. Does that sound fair to everyone?

If there are no objections or additions I guess people can just leave their name, age, and experience level here so we know how many we have going out to meet people and how many would be network/information only. If you're going to sign on try to guarantee that you'll be able to check these boards at least once every couple days. We don't want to leave anyone hanging.

Okay, so I don't want to be one of those speechy people, especially since I haven't really been holding up my end of slayer duities lately. But this team thing, it needs to be done. As soon as we're unstuck from each other we need to get on it. Scoobies 2.0 here I come? And I guess this is me throwing in my name to lead a team, cause you know slayer, I can handle it.

Because enough is really enough. Do any of us really know what's going on?

I'm fine. Sorry this past week's probably given you a headache, but it's fine now.

I so need to get piss drunk right now. Either that or someone should explore my Deep Roads, but I don't think Buffy would appreciate that. Personal space, it's a wonderful thing because I don't speak never-gets-sex-again. Now I know how my crew felt, and I almost feel bad for them.

I know there's a lot going on with some of you, but the city needs help getting back on it's feet. If any of you are free, I think some of the people out there would appreciate all the help that they can get putting things right again. There are plenty of streets that have been demolished up pretty good and I know there are a few personal businesses here and there that are trying to rebuild. Some of the people I spoke with don't have the finances to hire full and able bodied crews to help them out, so I thought us helping might be a good thing. They even offered to give those who participate in doing so lifelong discounts on all their purchases at said establishments. Anyone in?

You guys did amazingly during all that. Thanks for working with me and I know we lost a lot of civillians which we couldn't stop but what I want to focus on is next time, cause there will be one.

Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for not letting me run off with the bugs. Would have said it earlier but I've been trying to scrub the memory of that hive mind out of my brain, it was worse than I ever it's been crazy. You come through your fight okay? I know you got the job done but I haven't seen you since.

Trying to help recover from everything is actually a lot harder than I thought it would be with the military around. From what I've seen, they seem more focused on digging through every household and building for signs of alien life rather than helping the people who have been attacked. Seems like the chain of command has something more specific in mind than saving it's citizens right now.

I realize it's tiring fighting the Killiks believe me. The dragon took out a good large number, and that's what we need if we want it to stop. The more of her Killiks we take out the easier the tracking will be. I'm working on a way to track Alema through the Force metalinking with the bugs. Sort of like a translation from one to the other.

Okay my Patrollers. We're gonna do a sweep of the bits of the city not being looked after by others right now. Just a sweep. Don't engage unless its to help a civillian. I just want numbers and locations.

I don't plan on fighting another war, already did my time, but a city full of bugs isn't going to give any of us time to figure out a way home so This doesn't seem like the best time for introductions and explanations so I'll keep this brief: my name is Jake Berenson and I got here through this "seal" last week. I've been reading up on what we're facing here and I think I have the basics down. What I don't have down is: who is your leader here? Or at least the person organizing the patrols? I'd like to volunteer to help but I can't figure out who, exactly, I'd talk to about that.

Marco, Cassie, Tobias your numbers aren't working no one's numbers are working check in here as soon as you see this. I'm pinned down in what seems to be a Wal Mart in Lawrence, Kansas surrounded by some kind of alien I've never seen before. Giant bugs. I have no idea how I got here but I'm thinking the Ellimist and Crayak aren't quite as done with us as we thought.
